How was the weekend?

Mine was fairly dull. The pinnacle was finding the company I will use for our wedding. I found a place that will set up the ceremony (alter thingy and white wooden chairs), provide the officiant, file our license, and do our pics. All for about $1200. Bingo. Now I just need to find a restaurant for dinner and dancing after.

The rest of the weekend was grocery, cooking (asian lettuce wraps, holla!) some meals for the week, and Netflixing old episodes of Big Love. Oh, and spinning. I have a goal to do 10 spin classes before Puerto Rico (23 days away).

Re: How was the weekend?

  • meh, mine was pretty boring, didn't really do anything interesting.

I'm waiting to hear from my sister, we have plans to meet for dinner tomorrow and I'm really hoping she cancels.  She is such a trainwreck and is just so draining, I just can't take it. I haven't seen her in a few years even though she only lives about 40 minutes away and I wouldn't be too upset if we waited a few more years.

  • oh, I did try the new L'oreal Infallible eye shadow, it's pretty nice, somewhere between a cream and powder so it's very smooth.

  • Went and looked at an apartment on Saturday, which we liked, but I don't think her time frame is going to work with ours. We'll see. The kitchen was pretty sweet, though.  Then we had yummy spinach artichoke goat cheese pizza for dinner and I got drunk.

I weighed in today, 6lbs down! Wahoo! I'm suspecting most of it was water weight, since I was bloated like a mofo last week, but I'll take it!

  • awesome bob on the weight loss!

We picked out our sconces, doors and fan this weekend and met with the contractor. They are starting in a week so we spent the rest of the weekend mostly apartment searching. And it looks like we found a decent one and I hope to go look at it today.

Yesterday we went to the park with some friends and their son and ate Greek food and tried to keep the boys from drowning in the fountain. Then Dagger pulled Clement around in  his wagon which was about the most adorable thing ever. I put a video on FB.

  • We had a good weekend.  Saturday Fran and Ian went to the hardware store while I did some shopping.  We're putting in a new kitchen floor, so Fran spent the afternoon tweaking the cabinets and doing some prep work.  Ian and I played outside.

Yesterday we went to the Mystic Aquarium.  It was packed, and Ian was so excited it was like he got shot out of a cannon.  He was exhausted from hours of running around and seeing all the fish.  The best was when he had his face pressed up against the glass in the sea lion tank, and a sea lion swam right up and kissed the glass.  He jumped a mile.  I wish I'd gotten it on video.

Then we stopped at my parents house for a quick visit since my mom is recovering from surgery.

  • We were gloriously lazy which we have needed after the craziness of the past couple weeks.

Last night I died my hair. I think it makes my eyes more green.

  • I like the color and the new side swept bang look.

I think you deserve a smoke after the month you've had. Your subconscious obviously knows that.

  • Mine was so-so.  H worked late Friday, so I laid in bed with Jenny and read a bunch of A Dance With Dragons.  H then came home saying he had the worst stomach pain ever and thought he had food poisoning.  Fortunately he didn't vomit and felt better by morning.  Saturday we went out for a brunch and had a nice time.  I went to the office in the afternoon and stayed until 2am.  Then I got up with James at 6:45.  He took a 3-hour nap Sunday afternoon, and so did I.  Last night we went to my nephew's second birthday party, which was fun, because I got to sit and have a beer while James ran around and tired himself out before bedtime.

Eeeeee!  I wish you had too.  Just the description is enough.  How cute.

I missed work Thursday and Fri due to some stomach troubles.  I spent the weekend recovering, but I'm still feeling a little off.  I feel like a virus should not last this long!  But I'm not sure what else it could be.

I missed the dog parade yesterday because of it, which made me hulk smash upset.  Look at this happy dog!

  • Friday night was a quiet night in and we watched The Help.  Saturday was bar stool golf most of the day and then we went over to a friend's house for pizza, drinks and some card games while watching the Illini lose.

Yesterday was super lazy.  I did manage to get to the grocery store and made this - http://www.preventionrd.com/healthy-low-carb-lasagna/ for dinner.  It was super yummy, but did come out with a bit more liquid than I thought it would.  I may have used too much tomato sauce.

  • Buddha, I love the color!  Bethie - awesome job on the weight loss!  And Kay, I love Mystic Aquarium - sounds like Ian had a blast.  I may try to talk Jason into a weekend trip up there when the weather improves.  SB, hope you're feeling better.

Our weekend was nice.  Saturday we ran lots of errands, then took Miles to get a haircut.  Of course this had to come with lots of coaxing (lollipops!  cookies!  train ride at the mall!).  Now he looks all little boy-like and very professional.  Here's a super blurry picture.

    image

Sunday was super busy.  We went to a friend's new house and met her baby.  Miles made her 5 year old son very angry by taking apart lots of his lego creations.  Fun ensued.  Then we stopped at the mall to check out the Bloomingdale's home sale.  Then on to my sister's house where three toddlers ran around creating very noisy chaos while my mother made snide comments about my life's priorities.  Fun times.

congrats on the weight loss, Bethie!

  • We need more haircut pics of Miles!! He looks so dapper!
  • I'll try to snap something better tonight!  For the rest of the weekend, Jason kept asking Miles where his briefcase was and when he was heading out to the office.

  • My weekend was pretty decent.  I had a good run on Friday.  We took my MIL out to dinner for her birthday on Saturday and had a nice time hanging out with her.  Yesterday was my day to be productive.  That consists of doing things like straightening my hair and baking peanut butter chocolate chip Heath and pretzel cookies.  They were decent but could use twice as many chocolate chips.

  • Weekend was okay. We didn't do much. Saturday we realized how far north some of the neighborhoods we were considering are, but also found a beautiful new build that was move-in ready and in our price range. Then we talked about whether we should do the wedding first, a house first, or a kid first. That wasn't fun for me at all. So we had beer from Lost Abbey/Port Brewing. That was fun.

Sunday we had brunch then just hung out and watched movies. Moneyball was good but damn, that felt like the longest movie in the history of the world. I also baked beer bread and we made salmon for dinner.

Weekend of kid parties. Party on saturday and prep for E's party (sunday). Out to dinner sat night where the service was horrendous. But, we started talking to the couple next to us, commiserating about the service and gained possible customers so it was worth it. Sunday morning was E's party and that was a whirlwind and exhausting. Sometime yesterday a cold came on and I feel like shiit.

Now I'm making photo thank you cards on Walgreens.com and putting together a finial order for work.

  • I love Miles' hair cut!
  • Thanks guys!

Look at wee man Miles! I love him!

We made this last night for dinner, it was pretty good and very filling. 9 pts per serving. http://www.preventionrd.com/more-do-less-dont/

  • November, I am interested to hear what your priorities are that your mother takes issue with.

Weekend was good.  We watched Friday Night Lights (movie) on, well, Friday.  It is probably a good thing I watched and fell in love with the show first, because the movie was kind of pointless.

Saturday, I cleaned out the toxic waste dump that is our car.  I attempted to take my kid out in public, but he wanted to stay in and watch Despicable Me thirty times in a row.  Unfortunately, I fear our agoraphobic ways are rubbing off on the kid.  Saturday night I went to the Supersuckers show.  They are the (self-proclaimed) greatest band in the world.  While modesty isn't really their thing, they did indeed rock my face off.  So, that was fun.

Sunday, house stuff, Target trip, then watched Moneyball.  It was really good.  However, Brad Pitt's personality was a lot like my brother's.  It is a shame to watch an entire movie featuring somebody I once found very attractive, and only see my brother.  Gross.

  • Bought a new kitchen table on Saturday. That's the highlight, whoo hoo. S had a stomach thing Saturday night so we stayed home all day Sunday. I just hope I don't catch it.

  • As usual, I worked all flucking weekend. I managed to have some wine and go grocery shopping last night.
  • My stories from Sunday are in the "what's up" thread.

Saturday was the third consecutive weekend of toddler birthday parties, and we have two more to go.  But then we went out to dinner with another family that was at the party.  Service was slow, but the kids were pretty cute together.

Oh, it's the same old shiit.  We were talking about my job and my hopeful career trajectory and then she made some comments about how she would 'never in a million years' have a second child if she were a 'career woman' like me.  I felt like Melanie Griffith in "Working Girl".  You  know because I've chosen my priority to be my job, not my kid.  Why burden another poor child?

  • Your mom is special Nov.  Damn you for providing a comfortable life for your family.  Miles really seems to be suffering.

  • Way to go on the weight loss, Bethie!  Is that 6 pounds in one week?

Miles' haircut looks super sharp from what I can tell.  I want to see a lot more of his new 'do.

I'm glad your party was a success, TSD!  Got any pictures?

  • SB, any chance the virus could be morning sickness?

My weekend was okay.  I will AW my newest cakes:

Spiderman was a little chunky.  But I like to consider him buff.

I also made a cake in the shape of a University of Florida logo.  But since I hate the Gators, I refuse to post it.

Friday afternoon we got the keys to the condo and Ryan spent all weekend cleaning it.  I spent the rest of the weekend doing school work.  I hate school.  Operational Decision Making is the bane of my existence.

Today I tried to paint my kitchen the color Mashed suggested.  I am not cut out for painting.

    NO

(My grandmother and mom have already been pestering me about this)

I feel much better this afternoon after eating a good lunch.  I think today and later yesterday were just the residual weakness and my stomach complaining about a lack of food.

Those cakes are sick. I wish I could afford cakes like that but here, that shiit goes for like $400+ a cake. I know because my friend gets them for her kids b-days. I go with shop rite for $50. Also a good cake but definitely not Coley-quality or aesthetics.

Cali- I have 97 pics on FB. Here is the link to the album though- http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CctWrVq1bMJQ
