Those cakes are sick. I wish I could afford cakes like that but here, that shiit goes for like $400+ a cake. I know because my friend gets them for her kids b-days. I go with shop rite for $50. Also a good cake but definitely not Coley-quality or aesthetics.

Cali- I have 97 pics on FB. Here is the link to the album though- http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8CctWrVq1bMJQ

  • Oh, I was too distracted to read the rest of your post.

Painting will get easier!  Kitchens and bathrooms are the worst, so at least it will go downhill?  My best tips are buy good brushes and don't use tape.

Those cakes are pretty amazing.  I wish I'd thought to e-mail you about my H's birthday for some cake pops or something.  Because he would go crazy over that spiderman cake.

Thank you!  Why not use tape?  My mom made me buy this edger that has wheels and it was fun to use for 30 seconds but I don't know if I like it.  I'm not that good at all, so you scare me with no tape.

Oh! And I'm glad you're here.  Since my new goal is to have a RE'er pick out a paint color for every room in my house, can you please rec. a grey blue for the bedroom?  More grey than blue but not washed out looking.

  • I like to paint the trim first so it doesn't matter if I'm messy and get it on the walls and then just use an angled brush to do the wall edges. It takes me less time to do that (even taking it slow) than it would to put down all of the tape, and that way I don't run the risk of paint seeping under the tape without me noticing.

I do use tape if I'm painting trim that's touching carpet though.

  • I have proven multiple times that I am not to be trusted without tape.  Tape is a necessity for me.

Yes, although I often just use my edge for this.

I think tape is overly messy, and the benefit doesn't outweigh the amount of work it takes.  Even with frog tape, if you don't paint carefully there will be a ton of seepage that you have to touch up anyway.  If you get a good, small angled brush and cut in slowly and carefully, it takes way less time and looks better.

  • Aww TSD, I love the picture of E and his two friends hugging.  They're like an adorable little hug train.

That's my favorite. They've known each other since they were just a few weeks old. It's funny. They don't all see each other often either but totally gravitate to each other because until they were about 2 they saw each other weekly.
