Also, I don't see what's wrong with her going to Ireland to have her babies.  What's wrong with that?  That's where her H's family is.

You don't find it odd? I didnt fly back to the UK to have my dd just because my dh and ds were born there.

It sounds like its because her MIL looks down on kids not born in Ireland? I find that really weird. (that her MIL has that attitude I mean)

Yep, that is what she said. She actually said her child is the favorite grandchild (of 8) because she was the only one born in Ireland. The whole situation is not normal, at all. Her IL's are just as capable of flying to England to help out with the babies, which would make a whole lot more sense than flying a pregnant woman to another country just to have a baby.

umm wow.  I totally missed that part.  That's what I get for giving her the benefit of the doubt.  Yeh, that's weird as hell.  The fact that she agrees to go to Ireland to have her babies is absolutely crazy.

Yeah I could go fly to Germany and birth my baby in Germany too. But then I would be crazy women #2 to show up on this board with the plan to go to Germany on a tourist visa to birth my baby.

LOL! I wonder what ever happened to that girl...

I think her plug came out a month before her due date and week before she was to leave and she didn't take the flight.

I missed that...did she post about it?

Mouseinlux read it on her birth month board. They were both the same month.

Now Nesting from Chicago, IL My nail blog:
  • She doesn't annoy me because I feel much the same way about Spanish food.  I don't like most of it and what passes for delivery pizza here (telepizza) is not my idea of good pizza.  Now we have Domino's at least.  I am a little confused because I've heard London has every kind of food you can think of and even here in Madrid I can go out and find my favorites, but when you're craving something specific and have no where to get it if sucks.

Now I'm doing better with food, but for about a year I was desperately missing Chipotle, dill pickles (impossible to find here!), Panera (can you say sourdough bread bowl?!), and other foods that you just can't find here.  So...I guess I can relate -- especially during pregnancy when cravings can really take over and if she hasn't lived in London that long then it's hard.  It takes time to adjust and to find all the hidden places where you can find food you love.

ETA:  just realized I'm late to the game on this one.  Woops!
