Re: Randomly Tuesday
Got lots to say this morning huh Molly?
Morning indeed. Do you all budget? Like, did you sit down make a budget to stick with? The time has come for B and I to do so because we cannot seem to save what we said we needed to. I don't want it to be a problem if I have to move out there with no job. We have people looking for me, but I'm impatient with things like this. I admit it.
Another random question: Would you live a mile from the airport? I found some new houses for pretty good prices, but then B said he thinks he drove by them on his way to the airport yesterday. I don't think I like that.
Poor kiddo! Glad he's feeling better!
Yeah, we have a loose budget.
I'm not sure if I'd live by the airport. Honestly, I don't know enough about the immediate area. It probably wouldn't be my first choice, but it's not a bad area either. Are you concerned about the airport noise?
I had a big panic attack last night and it drained the crap outta here. I am on the edge this morning but not as bad as yesterday.
I live out by the airport BNG. I live in an apt though but living by the airport isnt that bad. I have seen the houses at a decent price.
yeah!
Haha! Thankfully they are doing external today. They did external last time but couldn't see anything. So then...yeah that sucked. But I figure I better get used to it. Ha.
We don't.
We've tried in the past, but we've never stuck with it. Shame on us...
How old is it? What brand?
You probably remember this, but our old TV got those stripes on the screen when it was way less than 2 years old. After making phone calls and writing letters, they gave us a new one for free.
It made me feel sick that we spent $1,600 on a TV that lasted less than 2 years.
Yay Molly. Hope it goes well.
Glad your lil man is feeling better Stargirl.
Charity, I hope you have a better day.
Re the airport: I'm willing to check it out. I have what I refer to as "puppy hearing". I hear everything. EVERYTHING. So B says it's up to me. I'll definitely be open to it. This one particular house is very nicely priced and a new construction, ample square footage, great deck and yard. Everything we'd want... If it could please stay on the market for 8 mor months, it would be great. Thanks.
Yeah budgeting. blah. We need to get it together.
If you have sensitive hearing, then I would definitely NOT buy near the airport. My home is a place for me to retreat to and relax. I would be so miserable if I couldn't go anywhere in my house to get away from noise (I'm very sensitive to noise, too.) Personally, I would pay more, or live in a smaller house somewhere quiet.
We sort of budget, but it's more like tracking than anything. Every two weeks L emails me a spreadsheet of what our balances are, whether we gained or lost money over that two week period and what our three highest expenses were.
I think the first step is to figure out what all of your fixed expenses are (housing, car payments, utilities, etc.), what your income is and then your what your variable expenses typically are (you might need to track for a month or two to get an idea). If the income is higher than both types of expenses, then you have a surplus and if you're having trouble saving, I would start paying yourself first with that amount. Say your surplus is $100 per month, so at the beginning of the month set up an automatic transfer of $100 to a savings account.
If your income is less than your expenses, obviously you've got a bit of an issue and you'll want to look first at variable expenses to see what you can cut to get a surplus going.
The GR airport might not be so bad. I live pretty close to the Muskegon airport and it's not bad at all.
Morning.
Stargirl, I'm so sorry that flu hit your house. I did wave towards you guys on Sunday. We stopped at the 7-11 for gas (that's about where you are, right?).
D&M: I'm excited for you to see that little gummy bear today.
B&G: I know you have at least 5 years and 9 months before you (maybe?) worry about schools districts, but you might want to keep that in mind. I think there are probably 3 districts w/in a mile of the airport.
Charity, I hope you find some calm and some energy today.
Last night I dreamed that I was planning a baby shower (???) for Jamie (???) and 40 people were attending. Umm?????
So I sort of did my taxes just to see what they might be is I did just my own and not as jointly and it looks like would get a little back. That makes me fell a little better. Tomorrow I schedule to have our taxes done. It's hard to believe that we haven't gotten any 1099's for DH yet.
Thank you everyone!
It's 5-6 years old. Sony. Nick only paid $600 or so for it new (50"). We want a flat panel to put on the wall anyway, but I really didn't want to spend the money just yet.
DH does all our finances so I really don't know much about our budget, just that we are trying to pay off everything so he can quit and start the brewery someday and we can live off my salary.
I'm getting a cut and color tonight and have no idea what I want to do. Keep the length, whack it off, get highlights or go darker. I'm so indecisive!
Ha GR- not THAT far away. Yeah there are a lot of school districts in that area.
DP thanks for the budgeting help. We will be sitting down this weekend to put it together.
Keep the length and go dark!
