Re: Wednesday All day All Night Randoms

  • Wendy: I think it's cool that your discovering this stuff. I was massaging DH's shoulders a couple nights ago and his sinus drained 5 times from pressure points in there. Sorry not really related but normally someone would take a decongestant or something. On a side note if you come across a combination for moody teenager syndrome let me know ASAP. ;)

Charity: My Meijers still has candy bins.

Today our house went up for auction. Now we wait and see if someone was dumb enough to buy it (doubt it) or if the mortgage company kicks us out.

Why don't you think anyone will buy it?  Do you have someplace to go?

That's awesome! I love learning about natural things that can help. I've had bad experiences with prescriptions in the past so I'm all about trying something else first.

Hope you get to stay a bit longer. My friend who was foreclosed on right before Christmas has found a trailer on some land north of town, I'm happy they found a place but sad because she put so much work into their house. She and her husband built it themselves and had extensive gardens.

  • Gah... long meeting.  Anyway...

Mira, your son is way cuter than an alligator!  Hehe.

Wendy, I love reading about those crunchy things that you're doing and learning.  I think it's really interesting.

Deeder, good luck with the house situation.  I'm sure it's a strange (to say the least) feeling for your house to go up for auction.

I hope everyone (and their family members) feels better soon!

The have to auction it at what we bought it for. So it starts at 99k. It is appraising at 77k. Right now are looking for a new place if it did sell we have 6 months to get out by law.  If not we wait on the mortgage co to do something.

  • imageBnGCookies820:

    What is crunchy?

    It's like "granola".  Smile

It's a slang term for a person who is really into natural food/items/lifestyles, environmentalism, homeopathic remedies, super health conscious, etc.

Wendy may have a better definition.

    That seems pretty accurate. :-)

Oh, that is very interesting.  I wonder why the auction starts out so high.  Weird.  Good luck with everything.

  • Checking in real quick. I told the girls they have five minutes to look at books before it is nap time.  I really hope they take a nap or at least stay in their room. I need a break!

  • I think we are going to do taxes tonight or tomorrow night. I hope we get as much back as we did last year. We are buying the girls new beds and a few accesories. Also, I have a few other things I would like to purchase this year. We are still waiting for TH "Christmas" bonus (if he gets one at all). I really hope he gets something in the next few months.

  • I think it has to do something with some of the foreclosure. In the mean time I'll be sort of happy to leave because I won't have to deal with this.

that is the corner of my Kitchen. A bad patch job from someone in the past.

  • Henry is sleeping, and I am taking a break from reading for class.

We had a play date this morning, and then downtown to join the maritial justice rally.  I think the excitement of being with 4 girls and then out in the cold wore him out.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Mol, wanna come sit under my happy light with me?  I'll paint your toenails and make you soup.

I feel like this is a cause that I should be more involved with.  I've said this before, but it just feels so patently unfair to me.  I wonder if I should join the Outlaws group at school.  I  always feel a bit out of place as a straight supporter of the community.

  • Next u/s is Tuesday.  Just a waiting game.  That appointment was such a waste of time.

Ugh, that must be so hard.  I hope everything turns out okay.

  • Missin nap was  a success. Even I took one; however I feel like I'm in a zone. I should know better than to take naps. I usually feel worse.

American University of the Caribbean, St. Martin is a real University?!

My dad was considering applying there for med school.  No offense intended to this particular doc, but my understanding is that it does not have the finest reputation for turning out the best doctors.

LOL.  I would go there just for the weather.  :)

    Ditto this.

It sounds like your doctor is monitoring you closely, which is a good thing, although all of the appointments are probably really frustrating.

I think I'm going to look into going to that school for my bachelors.  Haha.  Nice.

I won't lie, I did look into the admissions requirements for University of Hawaii's law school.

My numbers were in line with what they take, but I wouldn't have been a good fit as they place a lot of emphasis on soft factors like connection and demonstrated concern for issues affecting the Pacific Islands (both in terms of people and natural resources).

    I was wondering about that.

On pretty much every day this winter that it's snowed or gotten quite cold, B returns from work and announces that we're moving to Hawaii.  Paradise

So, three times this winter? Stick out tongue

On our last vacation there, I started wondering why the heck I didn't go somewhere warm for college.  So I thought I might remedy it for law school.  Instead, it turns out that I'll probably be Michigan for life and I'm actually really happy about that.

I don't mind the amount of appoinments, I just hate the completely pointless ones.

After waiting a year a half, she finally came in the room and said "So why are you here?"

    I explained.

She said "Ok, let's schedule another u/s for next week.  Have a nice weekend."

Obviously we talked a little more than that, but that is the jist.  They could have just scheduled me for another u/s over the phone.

  • Des and Mol, what a frustrating day!  Are you still taking home tests?  I'm sorry this hasn't been easy and clear for you.

DP, tell me more about this Outlaws group.  It was an interesting crowd at the rally this afternoon.  I took both kids a lot in the summer.  There were a lot of kids with chalk and bubbles.  Today Henry was the only kid.  It looks like they've gained some regulars.  I sent my friend a message letting her know we'd be there in honor of her family.  Looking at the issue through her family's lense, it's really driven home that gay rights are really just human rights.

    Haha, no!

I'm not worried about not being pregnant anymore.  :)

I have a picture from yesterday's u/s of the gestational sac.  That will tide me over till at least next Tuesday,  Wink

Outlaws is our student group for gay/lesbian/bisexual students.  Law school is teaching me how important it is to act in support of my priorities.  I think it is part of the culture here, one that seems uncommonly activist.  Another thing we're taught is to use the skills we are learning to effect change for good.

I completely agree that gay rights are human rights.  It has nothing to do with whether someone personally agrees with homosexuality.  I honestly can't comprehend how some people (and I'll single out Rick Santorum here), think it's okay to treat gay people as second class citizens.  I think it's totally fine for churches not to perform same-sex marriages, but it's not fine for the state to do the same.  I wonder if a challenge to something like DOMA could be brought under the establishment clause for that reason...Probably not, legal minds much more brilliant than mine are already working on it.
