I know it's all very stressful right now, and your options do suck, but at the end of the day you COULD do any of them (with the possible exception of driving within 2 weeks of the birth. I wasn't allowed to, but I had a c/s).
I drove a giant pickup with a motorcycle in the back and 2 dogs in the cab by myself from seattle to OKC at 28 weeks (exH was driving a moving truck, towing my car). It sucked, but we made it.
When Connor was born, J was working a few hours away. We came home from the hospital Saturday afternoon and on Sunday he had to leave to go back. Again, it sucked, but we made it (my sisters are super awesome and came to help me out - and it's a good thing they did since I had some complications that rendered me pretty useless for a couple of days and was readmitted to the hospital a week later).

Oh totally. Some of these options might suck more than others but you're going to survive and get through it and it will be fine in the end. So try not stress and worry too much...easier said than done, I know.

Thanks, guys. Not many of my IRL friends have kids, so they thought it was an okay plan to drive down. Even my friend with the kid was like, "Oh yeah, you could do that."

Ugh, what a tough spot to be in. I would absolutely try and get down there early to have the baby in TX.

I just couldn't even imagine wanting to stop and use gas station/rest stop bathrooms or what have you along the way with the extra process you need to do after giving birth. And as everyone has already mentioned stopping to feed/change the baby would make it one very long trip.

Ha, I didn't even know wtf my mom was talking about with the maternity panties. Don't even get me started on the other stuff. If she asks me what my blood pressure is one more time, I'm going to cut off all contact with her.

Thanks for all your advith, guyth. H and I had a long conversation about this last night, and he now agrees that it might be best to move first. We had considered this before, but I am really skeered about the labor process because of what I know, so the thought of switching to an unfamiliar hospital system is kind of terrifying. It's a little reassuring, though, that we could be somewhat settled and not have to worry about moving right after the big upheaval. We've planned out our lives before this so easily that it's really hard to consider the logistics of something that is completely foreign.
