B&M Monday

Other than the obvious of the game yesterday I have nothing to b!tch about.

Brianna, I said a novel on the actual post but every.single.one of your pictures are stunning.  I found myself letting out littles sighs and gasps.  What an amazing one year anniversary present to each other.

Re: B&M Monday

  • My only B&M is that we're moving in a couple of weeks, and I'm not looking forward to the packing. DH has to work the day of the move, so I'll be doing it all by myself. :(
  • Those pictures were beautiful!!!!

We originally weren't going to stay up for "The Voice" but decided to anyways.  Xtina (that's what she's calling herself apparently) was such a jerk.

Today is my observation.  I don't like to do games a whole lot but we're doing one today.

  • Our last minute Super Bowl party with the youth group was actually really fun last night. I felt bad about being gripy about it beforehand. Today is our "day off", and we so rarely take it... I'm going to try to talk Mack into letting this be a movie day.

And, re: Brianna's pictures... thanks! :)

  • Yes!!! Thank you Bobbieleigh, Julie - and of course, Chelsea.

I love love love these pictures - I was squealing at 6 am, and I don't.like.mornings.

    Here they are!

  • Brianna - Wow those pictures are just amazing!

I really don't want to deal with this week of work. I have about 3 books to read and I'm going to get started on them, but I know I'll still be bored. I guess I should just suck it up and not complain all week to y'all.

  • My favorite commercial last night was the M&M one.

I enjoyed Madonna's entrance and the first song and the last song.  I never cared for "Music" and I don't care for her new song at all.  I really miss old Madonna.

  • Brianna, I love the pictures. Every.Single.one.  But my favorite is y'all laying down and looking up at the camera.  you have your hand on his tie/shirt buttons.  That one just rocks it.

My B&M.  We had a few people over to watch the super bowl.  DH's parents and one friend just don't know when to leave.  The three of them just sat around talking and talking.  DH and I picked up all the food, unloaded the dishwasher, cleaned all the dishes, kitchen, tables.  Everything.  It is now 11pm and they are still there.  I told DH at one point it was time for bed (he agreed), hoping he would kick them out.  But he won't ever tell his mom to leave (or even mention that we have to work in the morning, and need to be getting to bed).  I don't know how to handle this situation.  Should I be the one to tell them "hey, we have to work tomorrow, and need to be getting to bed"?

I finally got frustrated and went and sat in the recliner in the corner and kept to myself.  FIL noticed and finally decided they should leave.  I mentioned to DH after everyone left that some people just don't know when to leave.  His response "Then maybe we shouldn't do things like this anymore"  Seriously?  That isn't the right way to handle this problem.

  • Deepthi - you could do a little baby shopping online in your reading breaks :)

I had an okay weekend.  Had a surprise visit from some friends who were in my area for dinner, and that was so refreshing.  I don't interract with my coworkers a lot, so I never realize just how much I'm craving human interraction until it's over and I think of how refreshed I feel.  I got the bar walls painted, and a few more pennies up.  This is going to take forever.  Seriously, if it's still a construction zone when y'all come for book club, then sorry!  I also went to church yesterday, and really enjoyed it.

My B&M:  Two more weeks and J should be home.  It feels like the minutes are crawling by, but it's halfway over.

  • Brianna -  I LOVE your pictures!  So many beautiful ones!  Your hair and make-up turned out great too!  I love your haircut; so very pretty on you!

    Chelsea - Great job!

Julie - That was my favorite commercial too!  I was cracking up!

We had a great and very long weekend on our little road trip.  We went down to Jackson, MS to see some friends.  It was so great to get away and see something new.  I got to see a couple places where "The Help" was filmed so that was kinda cool!

  • I'm glad I got a reminder about your pics, Brianna.  My favorites are #12, #24 and #25.  Oh and the last one!

DH became sick on Saturday and I think I am right behind him :(  I guess that's what I get for making fun of him because I thought he was being a baby.

We have stuff going on at work this week, which makes for a few grumpy people.

I made Asian Pad Thai for the first time this weekend and I put way too much Sriracha sauce and it gets more spicy every day.  I can't even eat it anymore.

Oh no, hopefully you don't catch it too.

For the Pad Thai, could you add more noodles and dilute it a bit?

Angie, I can't wait to see your bar area.  The penny idea is so cute, you need to hurry up and finish! :)

I'm trying, I'm trying!  It takes me about an hour to do $2 worth of pennies, which translates to a little over an inch.  Then I have to take a break because it's awkward and makes my back hurt.  I'm getting a system down though, so I'm getting a little faster. I did about 2 inches over the weekend... but I still have like 3.5 more FEET left!

I am seriously considering going to visit J this weekend.  Other than 10 hours of driving, I can't think of any reasons why not, and I think I can do half the drive Thursday, work remotely at my parents' house Friday, and then drive the rest of the way Friday afternoon... I feel like it's a bit crazy though.  What's your vote, crazy or not?

Not.  You miss him.  Go see him!  I totally would.

We used to do weekend trips to Houston all the time.  Most times we left Friday night and came back Sunday.  Is there a reason you have to visit your folks this weekend too?  I forget where they live and whether it would be on your way to Houston or out of the way.

Dear Abby has some of the greatest ways to get rid of guests, one of which was one reader who would bring out their 3 legged dog that freaked everyone out.  Another reader would go get in her PJ's while another would just turn out all the lights.  I don't know why those have stuck with me all these years.

If it were me, I would have said "Goodnight", gone to bed and let DH deal with them.  No reason for you to lose sleep.  We've had this issue with DH's friends and I had been keeping up with them but DH said it was perfectly fine for me to go to bed.

  • Jaymi - they're halfway to Houston.  I can't take the day off on Friday, but if I can work remotely then I can split the drive down (it's actually about 5.5 hours, because he's southwest of Houston) and still get there earlyish on Friday (aka, before my old-man-husband has to go to bed haha).  I'm so doing it :)
  • Jaymi-  That makes me sad!  People shouldn't be freaked out by a three legged dog!  Mine is so sweet! :-P

  • Oh wow, Brianna, those are so great.  My favorite is the "sassy" one.  :)  I know you already said somewhere, but where did you get your makeup done?  It looks great!

Michelle, that is a tough one.  IMO, there's nothing wrong with politely hinting that you've all got to get up for work the next morning.  But yeah, if your DH can't do it, then maybe the ILs shouldn't be over on a work night.

My only B&M is that I ate too many pinwheels yesterday and didn't work out today.  We ate so many appetizers, we were too full for dinner.  So the Asian peanut noodles will have to wait until later this week.

BL, did the mozzarella sticks come out good--Lauren posted on FB that hers did.

Angie I think you should totally go see DH!

Oh and Julie, the M&M commercial was my favorite too.  I thought the commercials were pretty lame overall though.

  • Angie, I agree with everyone! Go see him and have fun! :)

Stephie, I agree with you on the commercials.  Most were blah and I thought the polar bear Coke ones were lame.  Not as good as they normally are.

  • Angie,

Go see your husband!  Do it!

I'm anxious to find out of BL's mozzarella sticks came out as well.

  • Angie - I would say go.

Michelle - My husband says those same black and white statements. It annoys me too. I agree with Jaymi I would have just gone to sleep.

  • Stephie - I had MAC at Willowbend do it.  They did a great job, yes - but it took two hours.  I was going to buy product (because I normally wear their stuff anyway), but every.single.time someone came in, the MUA would walk away (mind you - there were 3 other girls there), and deal with them for 10-15 mins at a time.  People were trying out shades of foundation (and the different types too) and it took FOREVER.

I finally had say "thank you, but I'm leaving" without buying anything.  I wasn't even able to make it to my hair appointment.

  • I thought your hair looked really nice just like that.   Ugh, that would have been so annoying--can you imagine if that had been your wedding day?

I can't decide what I want for lunch.  I really don't feel like eating any of the stuff I have up here.

They did this to me once. I was so annoyed. You hair was really nice so maybe it was meant to be.

  • Bri - That sounds like a PITA.  I'm not sure I would have been able to not say anything to the make-up artist by the end.

Thanks for the reassurance ladies.  I've done the whole "I'm going to bed, but y'all stay as long as you want" thing before.  But that is usually like 2-3am on a weekend.  So Whatever.  It just really burns me up when they are so inconsiderate as to ALWAYS be the last ones, and ALWAYS stay late EVERY time.  Guess I'll just keep up with the "I'm going to bed" routine.

  • Yeah, I had a hard time not being a jerk.  I know that sounds awful, but I was trying to just be kind about the whole ordeal - I mean, afterall, it's a free makeover.  But I was mostly annoyed at the fact there were 3 other girls working, but it was my MUA that walked away every time.

Did she at least make any commissions off the people she kept leaving you for?!  That's pretty crappy, even if it is a free makeover.'

We just went to PD Johnson's for lunch, and it was delicious.

So, it's totally free -- like you don't even have to buy product?

I decided on an Amy's low fat frozen entree.  I have got to make up for the 15 sausage pinwheels I had yesterday.
