(Whatever It's Supposed To Be) Thursday!
I'm lame and can't remember what Thursday is supposed to be.
I'm mad at myself. We skipped boot camp this morning because it's so dadgum cold and windy outside right now. We have a funeral to go to in a bit and a shoot after that, so I'm not going to be just sitting around all day, but still... I need to get to a point where I don't make excuses for working out.
Re: (Whatever It's Supposed To Be) Thursday!
I don't even plan on working out anytime soon to be able to bail, so you're a step ahead of me!
As most of y'all know from FB, my foster doggie finally found a home on Saturday! I was so excited for him because he gets to be best friends with a little boy! And I was very impressed with Saks at the Galleria. They let us bring our dogs in for an adoption event and were so great to us. I expected a bunch of snobby, nose in the air, rich ladies, but everyone from the employees to the shoppers were awesome. We got so many adoption applications while we were there! And since we found Scooter a home I was able to take in another puppy to foster. We got a black, 7 week old Shar Pei puppy and he is just the cutest thing ever!! He's kinda fulfilling any baby fever I had, I am so in love with him!
Hooray for him finding a home! And I'm so jealous!! I have always wanted a Shar Pei puppy! They are sooo cute! Did you take pics?
Chelsea- I have been slacking on the exercising lately. I don't know what's up with me :-/
I am excited that I will get another cc paid off either this month or next! That'll be two down!

Today would be AW Thursday, but it doesn't really matter as long as we talk.
I need to just take Stephanie's advice and get up and go. I think I might go tonight, but DH is worried about me working out too much. I just need to make sure I keep track of my heart rate.
Angela, I saw the cutest puppy at the pet store the other day. The dog cost $500 and there was no way I could get him. I plan to go to the adoption center when it opens, it's around the corner from my house. I'm glad you were able to get another puppy. I agree we need to see pictures.
Sarah - Congrats on paying off another cc!! Whoo hoo!

We paid off our summer cruise last Friday, we're getting serious about floors and I'm going to a wedding this weekend.
Last night, I got to go to Staples (I love office supplies) and Bill bought me a paper cutter when he found out I was cutting flashcards (lots of note cards) by hand. And, I have a student who failed the first semester whose mom doesn't seem very interested in him but he's trying really hard this six weeks so I bought him a notebook last night to keep in my room with his notes and stuff. Now, if I could just get him to bring his book to class, he'd be set.
Yay for paying things off, and new puppies! Angela, my brother & SIL were supposed to go to an adoption event this Saturday, but Idk if they did, or if it was the same one. As far as I know, they still have 4 of the puppies
Speaking of money, Last night I went to the first of a six week money management course at my church. It seems like it's going to be really worthwhile, and I'm really excited & motivated to get a handle on our finances and start really working toward our goals, instead of just going with the flow.
I am so ready for the day to be over, and I've been here like 20 minutes. After work, I gotta pack up and grab Crispin & hit the road. Then tomorrow I'm working half a day from my parents' house, and then on to see J! I am SO excited
YAY for all the good stuff today like puppies, paying off debt and getting to see a hubby! I'm steadily working on paying off our trip to Costa Rica and I hope to be done in a couple months.
Also, I started 30DS, which is huge for me. I haven't worked out a lick since before we got married. I'm sore as can be.
I took a course years ago called Crown Ministries. It was such an fulfilling experience. I don't think they teach it anymore though. I know my church switched to the Dave Ramsey one.
Yay for everyone's AWs! I'm looking forward to the weekend with Wendi's wedding and I'm going to church and out to lunch with my BFF Sunday. I have no idea when I am going to the grocery store though--need to figure that one out.

Ha ya I'm glad it's not just me because I'm SO out of shape. Goodness me. I'm looking forward to getting over the crazy soreness and I hope to see some results too!
Angela - your new lil puppy is soooooo cute!! I love all his wrinkles!
Sarah - Congratulations on getting your credit cards paid off!! Chris and I are slowly working on the doing the same!
I booked my flight to Miami for a trip with my best friend. We are going for her birthday and one last fun thing to do together before she has her baby and I move away. I am so excited but I definitely need to hit the treadmill for the next month!
It seems, so far at least, like this curriculum was created in-house. It seems very practical, but with Biblical guidelines to go with it. So far, not super-preachy. One of the assignments is to track every single expense... guess who packed their lunch today!
Ours had a book to go with it called Your Money Counts. I remember one of the first questions it asked was, if God opened your checkbook, what would he see there? Yikes! When I started thinking about my spending in those terms, it really helped.

Yay Sarah, that IS a great accomplisment and such a good feeling too I know.
Lacy, that sounds so fun! So what is going on--when are you moving, did you find a place to live, are you still here and is DH still there?

We are still looking for a place to rent. It is a LOT more expensive up there so it's a bit of a struggle between me and Chris right now. I want something similar to our house and he would be happy going back to an apartment. I really don't want to go back to living in an apt. with two dogs and a cat. Just a little 3BR 2 bath house like ours rents for $2000-$3000 up there...it's CRAZY!! They know the oil and gas boom is happening so they are taking advantage it! We might have to get a townhome or something.
I am also wanting to get all my testing with the RE figured out with my doctor here so that when I find an RE up there I can just say "here's what's wrong with me, I've had all these tests done, and here's the medicine I'm on." Hopefully after next week I will be done with all of that! We are hoping to move mid March to April 1st. I just keep pushing it back. I want to give a month's notice at work and hope to do that in the next week or so.
Chris is still staying there mostly. I got him to come home for his dr apt so he is here right now until Sunday I think.
Sarah,
Congratulations on paying off another credit card.
Lacy,
I'm glad that things are working out for you and your hubby moving to PA, but we'll surely miss you.
I am so excited that Wendi is finally getting married!
Oh gosh, Lacy I know--whenever I watch House Hunters I am so shocked on how much housing costs everywhere else. We are so lucky here in that respect. Do you like that area at least?
Deepthi/Chelsea, I did not follow my own advice today to get up and work out. Ben and I have been staying up so late every night--we have GOT to stop. Last night we were up until midnight watching my 600 lb. Life of all things. We watched the first episode and it was so amazing, but this second episode was so depressing it made me want to cry. I think I am not going to watch the remaining 2 episodes.
I have been very emotional this week, crying at the drop of a hat. Darn PMS.
ETA: Julie, I am so looking forward to Wendi's food I can't even tell you.

Stephie - Yes, we are very lucky! I see people on those shows and I think to myself "you just paid $400,000 for THAT house?? You could live in a mansion here for that!!" I like the area from what I briefly saw of it.
Julie - You aren't getting rid of me that easily!
Good! You'll have to stick around the board, even if you don't live here anymore. I can't remember - do you have family here that you'd come back to visit, or are they elsewhere?
Stephanie - No the waking up hasn't worked and I thought Jeff put me down for the gym at their work (it's not actually at there work but another location) and he didn't. He's really worried about me working out. He's just overly worried period right now. I think we are going together tonight and that will be nice.
Lacy - I had the same problem when my ex-fiance and I were looking at houses in PA. It's crazy how much they pay for a run down house or at least compartively that's what it looked like to me. For a house that was smaller then my parent's house we were looking at paying 3 times my rent at the apartment I was in at the time. The sticker shock was huge! Best of luck finding a place. They do have a higher pay bracket to make up for it.

Oh yeah!! That's the main reason I don't want to get a job as soon as I move there. I want to come home as much as I want until I get used to being away from everyone I have basically clung to for the last 2 1/2 years while Chris has been back and forth. Also, my little brother is only 8 years old and I will miss him a bunch!!
Maybe there will be a G2G around the time I'm home sometimes!
Hmmmm, I was thinking about this too. Is it too late for next Friday?
I'll be out of town, but maybe you should start a thread and see who can make it.

Lacy, that sounds like a fun trip and I'm glad you're sticking around for a while longer.
Julie, did you deicde on your dress for prom? I thought you said something on FB about having some remorse.
Nesties, I do have another question. How long do you keep eyeshadow or blush? When is it time to throw it out?
I keep eye shadow and blush forever!! I throw it out when it's pretty much done.
Found the cutest thing!

I did, but I think I'm going to return it. For Wendi's wedding I'm wearing a size X and the prom dress is size X+1. The prom dress is actually about two inches wider on each side than the dress for the wedding. Plus, while I love the color and the beading at the waist, I'm discovering that it's going to be difficult to match.
Do you use Clinique? They have suggestions on the back of their products for disposal. However, you have to remember when you got it. I know for sure mascara is 6 mos. although mine is usually gone in less than 3. I think blush can stay around longer than eye shadow since it's just your face and not your eyes. I'll look on my boxes when I get home and check.
I'm with Deepthi--I keep stuff forever. Powders don't ever go bad do they?
I just got my CWs coffee cake recipe--it will take every bit of my willpower to wait until book club to make it.
Ugh, it is supposed to be cold Saturday now. I am going to have to wear my long heavy coat over my dress I think.

They don't go "bad", but it is said that they get to much bacteria, and should be replaced every 3-6 months. Me... I just use it until I drop it and the pressed powder shatters. That is always happens WAY sooner than running out.

oh, and what's for dinner everyone? I saw this on one of the food blogs I follow and think I'm going to have to try it.

Thanks ladies for the input. I've had some of my eyeshadow for at least 5 yrs. I really don't throw it away either unless it looks yucky.
Julie, well I hope you find something else for prom. Have fun at the wedding. Can't wait to see pics of all of you dressed up!
I actually have no idea what we're doing for dinner. I'm sure we'll cook something at the house.
LOL, this is so me! I did it not too long ago--dark blue eye shadow all over my beige carpet.
I am not cooking tonight. I have been doing a new recipe every week. This is the one up for next week I think: (Michelle, does this look like the one your husband makes?)
