Re: no clever title randoms
I walked probably .25 miles to the gym and back this morning and could not even tell you if the sun was shining or not. Is that a sign that I'm too far up in my head or what?
I unfriended someone on FB this morning. It felt so good. This person is basically at the opposite end of the political spectrum from me and I was keeping him for a few reasons. 1. It occurred to me how social media enables creating a homogenous environment for oneself and he was my "token" conservative. 2. When he posted something clearly ill-informed, I wrote a well-thought out response with citations so I thought it was possible to make a difference. But today he crossed the line and I'm over it.
That's a terrible feeling when you can't shake a dream, GRSP. Hope your mind shifts gears soon.
I also had a weird, scary dream last night. It involved aliens.
Happy Friday eve ladies!
I feel like in the "Groundhog's Day" movie. It's the same thing over and over. BUT as our dear DP pointed out to me yesterday- it's almost the middle of the semester. As a matter of fact- I am a mere 9 weeks from being done with school. Maybe I should learn somethin-eh?
Kasa- random flowers are sweet!
GRS- I've been in this weird dream cycle for a month now. I swear I have weird dreams more often than not. I don't know what is going on.
Gollie- GL to your H. I hear you on the 2 kids. My perfect kid world would be just like yours: Boy first, then girl-done!
I had to hide my BIL's status updates when he started posting things about Obama not exactly being the antichrist but bringing about the end of the world :-/
I'm covering the Trillium Haven Restaurant Q&A session in Eastown tonight for The Rapidian . . . so excited to feel like a real reporter. Sometimes I wish I had gone into journalism (I was editor of our high school paper and freelanced for a local rag in college).
Random article of the day...
I think this guy's little non-profit is pretty neat. Kids + reading + community leaders + downtown + healthyish treats.
From Rapid Growth.
Good morning lovelies!
I feel wonderful today.
I don't know if it is related to the new diet or not, but I am feeling better (mentally, emotionally and physically) then I have in a long time!
Wop: This is for you.
Sounds like you need it today.
Kasa, that is so nice about the random flower!
Gollie : GL to your H.
Yay for random flowers, school progress, and new (positive) challenges! Boo for bad dreams. Kasa, maybe your aliens can take my lion and go home.
Willa helped Henry dressed this morning. Consequently, he's head to toe in red. Including, they pointed out while laughing their heads off, his underwear.
I've done a couple of others. I'm really bad about doing them regularly. I need a few more hours in the day!
I think I made a big goof. Also, this is going to make me sound like even more of a big fish geek than I think I am (D&M knows about this geekery).
We've been looking at a bigger fish tank for a while, and they're on sale. Yesterday the kids and I went and bought a 29 gallon tank. Got it home, filled it 1/2 way, worried about the dresser supporting 300 pounds of water... Now, I can either empty it, pack everything backup and return it for a 20 gallon one, or get some 2x4s and build a small stand. Both would probably take the same amount of time.
Can I recommend getting a small metal rack and a piece of wood. That Is what SS did for his tank in his room.
Yes, this guy had no such redeeming qualities.
It's not that I don't want to hear different political opinions, necessarily, just not on FB. I decided that it wasn't worth the blood pressure spike anytime he posts.
B would probably love that big of a tank. He has a small one right there. Something tells me he'll get a bigger one. When we bought the fish, I asked if we were going to name them. He said no b/c in the past, when he would name them, they died. Well I named the algae eater (I think that's what they're called- the ones that suck on the plants? I'm fish dumb) Darth Vadar. He's still there :-)
All this to say...nothing. I am of no help. But since you got it already, I say build the stand. Unless it's harder than it sounds. See? No help a-tall.
One of L's friends makes his living propagating and selling live coral. He sometimes sends out huge emails discussing lighting, filtration, etc. I don't think you could possible sound fish geekier than him
Hee hee. Yeah, I won't get that into it. I think this might be my hobby in the gardening off season. Obviously, this is year round, but, you know...
Thanks pals. The plans for the stand look really easy. I only need 4 2x4s and some plywood. If we had 3 more 2x4s in the garage, I'd be cutting wood now. I'll have to wait for Jim to get home. The Focus is too short for the 8' long boards.
Having this tank will allow us to seperate the 22 babies (!) we have by sex when they get older.
B&G, if B would like more fish, I have a we will have plenty of these guys...
Ughhh....gotta love stuff like this
Me- Here is what I was thinking of doing for such and such project
Someone else - no -do this (lot less nicer)
Me - do what I am told
other person - Is this what you were thinking of doing? (insert face looking at you like an idiot". That is not what I had in mind. I was thinking of something nicer like this.
Me - breathing deep, trying to hold it together.
I will let him know. Thanks
I'm sorry, gvsu. Is this the same someone else who has done this a lot in the past?
Good golly, it's nice to see you. Hope Jim's v. goes well. Are you stocked up w/ frozen peas?
Charity, I'm glad the car is being fixed!
Ugh, that stinks! I find myself in similar situations from time to time and it is SO.FRUSTRATING. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this today.
Definitely build the stand!!! Yay, fishies!
