NG spouses (and BLT of course), have you seen this? LIP

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

  • I quit reading when I saw the maternity pic. That told me everything I needed to know about her viewpoint.

Edit: Now on the other hand people say that they're forwarding it because they want her to be punished. How on earth can anybody punish her for writing a blog except maybe to give her the cold shoulder when they bump into her at the grocery store?

  • She's definitely a hypocrite. I read the whole article and what a whiney person. Someone said they actually reported this incident to her husband's command.
  • Because he posted a long comment and she made it a new blog post. Classy lol

Could her H get in trouble for this?

    Maybe.

My H got chewed out for something I said years ago that was much less inflammatory.

  • Insert WTF face. I don't even know what to say about that whole post. She's probably been married 2 minutes and is the type to run around wearing dog tags, just like shes wearing his uniform with her pregnant belly showing, classy. How is that any different than the girls she's talking about wearing their H's uniform. What an ignorant girl.

I don't think that he bothered to read her whole diatribe. Otherwise he'd have known that she brought up the subject of wive's body parts hanging out of husband's uniforms in pictures before anybody else did.

At KC's goofup. I wouldn't have said it like that, but even after finding out the facts I wouldn't necessarily have supported the husband and wife who did the yelling. The woman may be a hot mess and have no clear idea how to manage her children, but how is embarrassing her in front of God, the Exchange and everyone a way to offer constructive criticism?  Sounds like she needed someone to help her out and guide her, not to remind her how horribly she was doing.

Yes, this caught me by surprise too. So she doesn't think that NG Spouses make the "National Military Spouse Club" cut. It's unpopular, but not something she should be getting in "trouble" for. IMO

    Weird.

I get that she is a miss-informed idiot who loves to AW her hard Military lifestyle. But I don't get the whole "her punishment must be swift and severe" response she is getting. Seems out of proportion.

  • I am Surprise at her comments about PTSD.  Congratulations that your husband's mind is "solid as a rock;" not everyone is so fortunate.  I can't even articulate what I think her point about PTSD and Soldiers v. Guardsmen is (aside from Guard members not being real Solders) because the statements in that paragraph seem to be unrelated.

Talk about a pissing match.  Sheesh.

They aren't real soldiers and their spouses are stupid, but y'all, she totally respects the Guard; she has an uncle who served!

Edit:  My last statement wasn't very nice, so I deleted.  My apologies.

  • Oh, and she totally stole the statement under her maternity pic from the blog titled "A Little Pink in a World of Camo."  Just sayin'.
  • I saw this this morning...I love that her husband felt the need to defend the uniform maternity photos.

I wrote about this pissing match in my blog last year and just brought it back up front this morning.  What a whench and a coward for disabling the comments.

  • A) I haven't finished my coffee yet and now I'm irritated. B) I can't comment on her stupid blog because it's blocked at work and the only way I could even read it was in google reader. C) THEY are the reason that there is a misunderstanding of what the National Guard does and that we're just "weekend warriors." THIS *points to self* weekend warrior has worn the same damm uniform for the last 7 years and 5 of those years, it has been on a daily basis.

Whatever. I'm going to walk away before I get really freaking irritated. This is right up there with when our AD counterparts we were attached to in Iraq called us Wal-Mart greeters. *sigh* I know not all AD are like this but it's really f*cking irritating.

I'm debating about whether or not I want to direct link her from my blog.

I thought about it. But, I'm not going to. It would be unprofessional.

I did with the full disclosure that I was only doing it to offer both sides of the argument and that if you read it you couldn't comment on her post because she disabled it.

  • I will say that someone(not me) has reported it to his command and someone else has sent her blog post to the local news station.

    Wuuuuuut?!

    Yep.

I was reading through some comments on Facebook and one person found his command and reported it. Then a google search pulled up someone posting it on the local news stations FB page.

ETA - And I just found this. If you look to the right, there's a thing about the news station doing a piece on it.

Oh dude. She needs to pray that the news doesn't cover it. Her face is all over that blog and she's just asking for people to ostracize her.

    Wow. Shitstorm.

Maybe now people will realize that the things spouses do and/or say are a direct reflection of our spouses.

    Honestly...

I don't feel bad for her.

If you say stupid things and put them in public places, you deserve what you get as a result of it.

It's gotten crazy. Someone found her facebook page(and posted it). I now know who her and her husband is. I'm not going to do anything but SMDH.

  • imageKiller Cupcake:

    I should say...

I don't think she would deserve any physical harm as a direct result of this and I'm still pretty undecided about people contacting her H's command (but I think that would have a bigger result than anything), but being put on blast like she is? Yeah. She deserves that.

I agree. I don't think I'd contact his command but I'd love to chat with him personally.

  • Meh.. I think she deserved to have this handed to her husbands command. It's the risk you take posting things about the military (in such a negative way, at that) on a blog. It's the freaking internet for crying out loud. Does she think posting something like this was really not going to 'stir the pot'? But I usually feel like I'm the unpopular opinion.

And on that website it says it was airing at "10 tonight" CA-RAZY!

  • I woke up this morning to quite a few of the "big" Army wife type FB pages posting about her blog, how can you post something like that and NOT expect it to blow up in your face? Most things now days, if they're really good or really, really awful, get circulated big time around the internet. If her husband hadn't made his (also) ignorant comment then I would not be so on the side of contact his chain of command, but if she wants to be a "real Army wife" then she's going to learn that you ARE a direct reflection of your spouse. She puts on such good manners in front of his command, that's not going to make a big difference now.

  • Oh man I wanna see this news segment. Not to mention her husband is a recruiter and he's allowing his wife and himself to put the Army & National Guard In a negative light. Smh...

  • Is it just me are did all the comments go missing. Interesting...

I think she deserves the backlash, and considering that her H actually came in and responded (which is gone now, but probably someone has evidence somewhere... its the internet) - his command SHOULD be told. They should at very least be aware of what she/he is saying, and they can decide what, if anything, to do from there.

She just is making herself look like a snobby, AWish, slore.

I just really dont get why they care if NG call themselves soilders. It seems like an incomplete semantical argument that doesnt really hold any water. There is a reason we have AD/NG/Reserves. They are all important, and not "better" than the other.
