Re: Forgetful Friday Randoms
Mid winter break is a just a make up day for staff. I think it used to be called in service day but now they get 2 days.
Good for your only boy. What game system does he play? How old is he? We are trying to get SS grades up to, not as easy with a 16yr old.

awww, cute grandparent stories girls. I don't have anything like that mine were all gone before I graduated HS.
I didn't sleep well last night. DH was sick and there isn't much I can do. I think part of it was induced by stress from yesterdays meeting at school. After 6 years of dealing with teachers and schools for SS we both feel beaten down. I don't think I like schools anymore as an adult than a kid. At least as a kid I wasn't aware of all the red tape. The school just looks at testing results and not the actual child so we end up going in there an explaining/fighter for our kid.
I'm calling in sick today to work. Want to watch??? I Deeder it's Deeder I'm sick I won't be in today. Ok thanks bye.
The whole CP law thing. Is it only for divorce? Meaning could two people not married but with kids go through something like that?
OH I forgot to add a couple other randoms...
A crane collapsed at the Kent County Jail about an hour ago. All people accounted for and one 1 minor injury reported.
A PN couple caught a squirrel. Not really big news but the squirrel was purple. It was been released back out into the "wild" of the back yard.
A Woolly Mamnoth may be wondering around up in Siberia.
Oh no! I'm sorry, Mol.
I do want to thank you for bringing up that memory. Her death (heart attack at my brother's wedding reception) was traumatic. Remembering that genuinely sweet moment is so helpful.
Thanks for the link, B&G!
These random news items are excellent.
Like, to figure out a custody plan? I'm not sure. I want to say probably, though. BnG might know.
That's a huge crane! I'm glad everyone is okay.
A purple squirrel? Are there photos?!
Mamoth? Wha....?
You forgot the possible Lach Ness sighting

I knew there was something else!
Maybe if they opt out of Friend of the Court. I can't say I have a definitive answer. I do know that the divorcing couple can opt out of FOC at the beginning of the CP process. But afterwards if they want to adjust the agreement, FOC might have to get involved.
Well Douh!! that is at John Ball Zoo.
Oh my gosh! That is very traumatic.
Let's see if I remember what I wanted to comment on.
Winter break - I'm surprised its not next weekend. A lot of schools do 3-4 day weekend for President's Day weekend. We used to go to Weber's Inn in Ann Arbor for 2-3 days when I was younger That was our vacation. However with the schedule change (school starting later) it may not make sense to have a long weekend that time of year. Although, my nieces and nephews have next Friday off. I'm brining my girls to my parents for the weekend so they can spend Friday with their cousins.
Deeder - I hope things get better with the SS soon. Hopefully the new district would be a little more willing to help.
Draven's baby - I too am curious at 6 six kids, esp with two little ones and one on the way. How do you keep your sanity.
Has he looked into going in-house somewhere? Would that be something he's interested in?
Amelia came home from daycare with a note that it is her teachers last day today. I could have cried. There has been way too much teacher switch over for Mia since we started. They moved this girl into her room in late-November and she finally got the classroom under control. It had gotten a little out of hand with the teacher prior and Mia was following the naughty kids. Mia really like this teacher a lot. She was really sweet and liked Amelia a lot.
Hopefully when they replace this teacher, they keep long-term in mind and put someone with roots in the area, maybe someone a little older and not completely dependent on that job for their house hold income (I'm sure it is crappy paying)
I think he was pigeon-holed into the line of working that he is currently doing at his last firm. It would be hard for him to switch at this point. There is a major firm that does what he does. I kind of wish he would put his resume there just so he could have some bargaring power at his current place.
I have cried over center turnover. It's so hard. Here's hoping the next one sticks for a while.
Jim came home for 10 minutes to drop his stuff off, and then went to the office for a little bit.
Now I have a cry-at-everything 3 year old on my hands. Awesome.
Because he saw daddy, or is he grouchy today?
Mike took Tennyson into our room this morning to play, so I could sneak out the door without him melting down.
I was gathering up my stuff and slipping on my shoes, and I head "Where's mommy? Where's mommy go?"
I heard Mike say "Hopefully gone." lol.
I tried hurrying out right then, but I think he saw me. He started spinning the doorknob kid-turn-proof thingy and started crying.
Awww man, that sucks. You will have to think of a poliete way to tell Jim "next time, don't bother coming home until the end of the day." ha ha. Or have park a few houses down and put the stuff in the driveway. Hopefully you will have a nice family weekend.
Hi, JGE!
There's this extremely stinky fellow who works in my department. To the point to where I literally gag when he's in the room too long. Turns out this guy eats raw garlic everyday. EVERYDAY! And he told the boss he doesn't care if he smells. Great.
So now I don't feel bad that I spray the air freshener everytime he leaves the office. Just ew
