  • Wow, that was on in 1975???  YIKES!

I watched a 70's commercial for Jontue (my favorite high school fragrance) and that was a little crazy too.

  • RIght? I can't believe our moms let us buy that stuff!

    I remember that commercial.

And there was a print ad for LBS that was even creepier than that.

I would totally post some to back that up, only I don't want the FBI to come crashing through my door, arreseting me, and taking my Internets into evidence.

  • Creepy. And that woman looks like my mom in the 70s. Even more creepy.
    Oh, FFS.
  • I was fifteen when that commercial was made, bought the product, and wore that dress (or nearly; mine had tiny pink flowers all over it but otherwise was the same). With four inch platform heels, pink undies, and nothing else.

I did the toes pointed inward thing, too. God help me. Target market.

SO SINGS MY SOUL *WHAM!* MY SAVIOR GOD TO THEE *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!*
  • You mean, like this one fuss? image

Something tells me the girl in that commercial is not wearing undies.

Sue_Sue, do you remember? Was there no talk of these ads being even potentially inappropriate for sexualizing young girls or calling babies sexy? Nothing?
