Helloooooooo

I met a friend for early drinks. Then spent 90 bucks at whole foods. Now I'm home watching a Sesame Street bedtime DVD with Maggie  and eating popcorn.

Re: Helloooooooo

  • I have  indigestion from eating too much leftover birthday cake.  Wheeeee!

  • How was the party?

  • Turned out great.  We didn't hire entertainment and left it pretty unstructured.  I made magic wands (wood dowels with puff balls glued to the end), put out some crayons and sticker, and blew up a bunch of balloons.  The kids loved it.  And they all went apeshit over the cake pops.

MC decided not to blow the candle out this time, but more like, put it out with her face.  Video posted shortly.

  • My husband and I spent the day at Seneca Lake for the Chocolate and Wine festival. It was delicious, but it started snowing on the way home and none of the interstates were plowed, which added an extra hour to our driving time.
  • Herro. I'm washing our bedding and touching up my gold fingernails. I'm excited to watch Zooey on SNL tonight. I know she can be kind of annoying, but I still love her. I am also about to go through some of our documents to get our tax stuff started. I am determined to get it done early this year.

I am like, the epitome of a 20-something living out her youth in a blur of non-stop crazy spontaneous excitement.

Since getting married I can't stay up past 10 so I won't see it but we DVR SNL so I'll have to watch it tomorrow. New Girl is my new favorite show right now.

  • We got back from an early Valentine's Day dinner and am finishing up my lesson plans. We may watch a movie or Rifftrax if I don't pass out by the time I'm done.
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • Heelllloooooooooo!

I'm watching Paul and eating pb&j. I made a cake and the dog peed on my favorite skirt. She's a jerk. She RARELY pees inside and never on stuff.

How are you doing? You seem like you're more positive about your relationship lately. I'm rooting for you. Is that weird?

Not weird. Yes, I'd say we both feel more optimistic. Still have a long way to go but we are doing the work in counseling and I feel much more like I WANT it to work than I did a month or two ago. Marriage is hard.

And being an adult sucks. It's a terrible combination.

  • I'm glad things are going better for you Kristen. You know we'll all love and support you no matter how things turn out.

  • I'm here working on homework.

Emmett's party was today and I am exhausted.  He was adorable with his little cake.  He also got 5029384 million presents and all he wanted to play with were the bows or the cards.

There were only like 5 kids at his party (mostly adults) and they were loud and screaming and have me determined not to have a 2nd until Emmett's 3.

My friend is no Hezz but she paper raped some adorable stuff for the party.  I wish I had the talent for that kind of stuff.

  • I slept way late, and have been on the couch in my pj's all day.  I still kinda feel like zombie poo.  But I'm drinking delicious wine anyway

And we're watching Contagion.  Movies like this freak me the foff out, man

  • That makes me really happy to hear, Kristen. I feel like the wanting is half the battle.

We had a nice, low key day. Made breakfast, hung around the house and played, went out to lunch with friends (Cali wore Those Shoes, fyi), took a family walk to the riverfront and played in the park. Now Sean is napping and I'm trying to decide what's for dinner. Sean refused to nap until almost 5 so I'm a wee bit worried about bed time.

  • And I am so happy pinching the tip worked Kristen.

  • Oh Kristen, I'm so happy to hear that. I just want you to be happy. But, you know, if it doesn't work out, Boston's got some crackerjack non-profits and is a great place to start over, iffin you were lookin' ...

  • Between the two of us (me and Fran, not me and Ian), we've consumed two bottles of wine and one stick of butter tonight.

I'm glad things are moving in a positive direction, KB.  Slow and steady.

  • Dagger has done late naps too and usually he still goes down within an hour of his bedtime.

Owen has been protesting naps lately too. Sucks.

You awesome as well Linds. I want to hang out with all of you again. Like weekly.

  • No matter how late Ian goes down for a nap, he still goes to bed close to the usual time.*

I say this despite the fact that he's still going strong 40 minutes past his bedtime.

If we win Powerball tonight, the commune's on me. I'll take suggestions.

  • I stayed up until 5:30 this morning and slept a large chunk of the day. I have yet to accomplish anything useful.

Sorry.  The winning ticket is on our fridge.

  • I also want to say how happy I am that you guys are in a better place now Kristen. I hope it continues to get better. You deserve to be happy.
  • Kristen, I've been lurking and feigning interest in what we're watching but I just had to bum rush you with a huge hug and some hip thrusting after reading that things are looking up. Lots of love to you guys!
  • I gave tons of my clothes and a coat away to a girl that works for me that I know has no money. I was going to sell them but that would take way more energy/work and I'd rather just give them to someone that needs them.

More kid parties. Today was at a My Gym. Tomorrow is at a My Gym. It's like Groundhog Day over here. It's actually very nice but the party is stupidly structured. It's like 50 min of play, they then feed them quick as hell then let them play again. I've been to a lot of parties and it's always play for the 1st hour then half hour for pizza/cake. The kids are programmed to then go home after the eating. They had to clean them all off before letting them back into the play area which would normally be the parents responsibility on the way out. Also, then how are you supposed to get your kid out of there after being let back in to play??? So annoying.

We went to Red Lobster when B came home. It was foffing 5:30 when we got there and there was a FORTY-FIVE MINUTE WAIT. At 5 foffing 30. Then we went to a Charlie Browns and couldn't even get a spot. We luckily called another CB's and put our name in so when we got there it was only about 15 min. I love northern jersey. I normally love where I live because everything is here. But anywhere near Paramus down to Hackensack on a saturday evening is packed like Lady Gaga decided to come in for a some spinach dip at Houstons. I also realized when we sat down and were handed a Valentines Day special menu that they must be getting in on the V-day crowd that might be celebrating today.

B fell asleep reading to E so I'm downstairs watching more GH from January to catch up.
