    But good morning to you!

  • Busy.  V-day is tomorrow and I can't wait for it to be OVER.  Ugh.

  • Good morning. I could use more sleep but my body just won't allow it. I had hoped to sleep until 8 or so. but no. I was up with B at 6:30. Good thing too b/c he forgot to set his alarm.

She works in the flower industry.  :)

  • Okey dokey! That makes a lot of sense.

Charity- I hope you get your car back today.

NOPE!  I work in the flower biz.  Stick out tongue

Plus, I'd rather have my husband be spontaneous and do something special on a random day of the year.  We do not celebrate V-day.  Never have and we've been together almost 10 years.

  • That's cool. I will be driving back in the snow tomorrow. Not looking forward to that. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Btw- Blue water was good last night!

  • Good Morning!

We rented a cabin up North with a group of friends this past weekend and it was great fun. :-)  We had planned to ski/snowshoe when we originally booked, but due to less than ideal snow conditions we ended up just visiting a few breweries and hanging in to play games.

Fingers crossed for a smooth drive for you.

I've never been to Blue Water Grill, but have heard good things about it. What did you have?

  • Thanks. I think I'll just leave in the morning when B leaves for work.

We had the blue fire steak egg rolls fire appetizers- very yummy

For my entree, I had the black and bleu. It's bowtie pasta, chicken, asparagus, and sundried tomatoes in a blue cheese  cream sauce. Pretty good but the blue cheese got to be too much toward the end.

B had the grilled salmon with a sweet potato hash. I GUESS it was good. He ate it all- very quickly lol

  • Super busy. We had a mostly relaxing weekend. Saturday I had a Slow Food West Michigan board meeting, then met DH at White Flame Brewing for dinner (you can order in pizza). I was surprised at how packed it was - he even is helping the owner brew so they can keep up with demand.

Yesterday we cleaned the house and started watching Weeds on NetFlix.

Coming from a person who's husband has to deal with cars all day, everyday (we get calls at 11 pm a LOT), the person working on your car is also thinking "This is getting old". Believe me. They're not thrilled to have found another leak.

  • This weekend was Brielle's 3rd birthday. We "partied" it up all weekend. Her party ended up being at The Blast Factory in Kentwood. The kids had fun but I was hoping for more in the area of customer service & quality of the equipment. All in all Brielle had a great time, so I consider it a win. :o)

Accumulation is supposed to be 1" or less.  Nbd.  Not sure what time you're planning on heading back, but definitely avoid rush hour.  If you're already really familiar with the commute, feel free to ignore me, but EB 96 from ~US 23 through the 275 interchange gets really sticky from 6:45-8:30 a.m.  If there is any kind of precipitation, forget about it.

  • Juli, that sounds fun!

MissyNa, glad to hear that the birthday weekend was a success!

  • Finally made it in here!. Everytime time I tried to get here I got sucked into something else. I'm not a fan of Monday mornings. Every Sunday night I say to myself that I'll go the the gym in the morning and almost never do. Well today I think I figured out the trick. If I don't take my coat off while I unpack my groceries I'll keep it in my head to leave the house again right away. It worked today, made it to the gym!

I have farm fresh eggs again for the second straight week. Is is wrong to love some clients for than others based on the fact that they give us food?

You're telling me re: Monday mornings.  That's the day I wake up at 4 a.m. to drive back east.  It sucks.

Good job making it to the gym!

  • Hi pals.  I had another meeting with the girls yesterday, and it went really well.  They're strarting to really come together as a group.

  • I just sent a credit card application in to see if I can get approved. Now that the bankruptcy is closed/discharged we can start rebuilding our credit. I really don't want to credit card but I'm thinking I'll try on and only use it to charge our dental/vision insurance on it. It shouldn't be that much and that way it gets paid off monthly.

How was White Flame?  We're aiming to get out there soon and check it out.  We visited Harmony the first weekend they opened and they were packed.  The beer was just okay, to be honest.  Only 4 available - 1 was not great, 1 was okay and 2 were good.  I never expect a place to be top notch on their opening weekend though, so we'll definitely swing back in a few months and try again.

I bet it has to be a big hassle to them too. Thanks for the heads up.

  • Just popping in to say Hi!

We had a nice weekend.  Saturday I forced myslef to get out of my comfort zone and go out and meet up with some local moms.  It went ok, not bad not great.  Then on Sunday, I had a photographer friend come to the house and take some family photos.   It was really nice and I am super excited that I will now have nice pictures of my entire little family.  :)

  • Morning everyone! I had a busy past week otherwise I would have checked in the board last week. My parents and brother came from Wisconsin to visit Friday night/Saturday. So I spent most of the week cleaning and unpacking, getting ready for visitors. It was nice to be able to visit with them. My mom was so happy to see her grandbaby - she said she was having baby withdrawals as we haven't seen them since Christmas. :)

This week should be uneventful for us which I am looking forward to. I did meet with a potential babysitter this morning. She seems very nice and Hannah seems comfortable with her. So I am looking forward to being able to have a date night with my husband in the coming weeks.

We don't really celebrate V-day either. Although our first date was 7 years ago tomorrow, completely by accident. So the day does have some special meaning to us.

  • BNG- Glad you guys like Blue Water.  That was one of our favorite places when we lived in the area.  We use to love sitting on the patio by the water in the summer sipping on cocktails.

Missyna- Happy belated bday to Miss Brielle!

Juli- Glad you had a nice time up north.  And thanks you gave me a great idea, H has been super stressed lately, I think I will see if wants to go up north for a little get away.

I did the same last week on Wednesday. I went to dinner with a few moms I had never meet before from a local group I found online. Definitely not somthing I would normally do. It was nice to get out but I'm not sure how I really feel about it. Guess you have to put yourself out there to meet new people. It's hard to do though.

Let me know if you want a rec - we really liked the place we rented.  It was meant for a bigger group though (sleeps 14) but it was dog friendly, on a lake w/privacy but a short drive from town too.

  • My grandpa made it through the weekend.  And by made it through I mean he's still breathing.  That's pretty much all he's got going for him.  He hasn't really been awake/talking/eating/drinking since Tuesday.  How long can someone "live" after not having any significant amount of food or water and having a heart work on less than 20% capacity?

I spent a few hours by his side yesterday.  His breathing was very calm and steady, not labored and sporatic like before.  He seemed extremely peaceful.
