Re: Monday Randoms
I went to bed at 8 o'clock last night because I literally could not keep my eyes open. (It was earlier than T went to bed even.)
And then I was cursed with waking up at 2:30 and not being able to fall back asleep until about 4:30.
When my alarm went off at 6:30 and instead of hitting snooze, I shut it off. Oops. H woke me later "Uh honey? It's 7."
Awesome.
Visiting with grandpa for a few hours plus going to bed at 8 means that I didn't do any of my homework for class tomorrow night.
I have class tonight and work all day tomorrow....anyone ever skip one class to do homework for another? I don't know how else to squeeze in the 3+ hours I will be spending on homework otherwise... sigh.
Yay! Glad to hear that you both met up with some new people. It should get better as time goes on. Just by observing conversations, you should be able to pick up on what mom's you fit in wtih the best.

darn!!! I was going to ask you if you had any info on that. When I looked at their website early last week, I didnt' see prices. I forgot all about that.
They dropped off my car. It's fixed now - yeah!!!!!!!!
Their beer is pretty solid. Not as good as DH's, of course :-D although he has had a hand in brewing some of it. I had the porter and thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking is kind of a pain.
There's something on Etsy that I was thinking about ordering for my mom for her birthday. I'm cutting it close with timing though, so I messaged the seller and asked if it would be possible to have it shipped and delivered to Michigan by my deadline.
His response began with, "I love Michigan. I was just there at Christmas."
Sold. I'll buy your product. Dude knows the way to my heart. (Oh, and he can ship it in time.)
My work has two really, really, really good interns right now. They are recent college grads. One is in limbo while his wife applies for grad school alll over and the other, my intern, figured before she seriously starts job searching she should get some marketing experience. We are so lucky to have them. I make sure with my intern to give her experience doing a vareity of things that will help her in a future job. And, she is happy to get out of the house. She moved back to her small hometown from a fun college town, so was going crazy.
I'm glad you were able to get in some time with your grandpa. If you have to skip class to do the homework for another this one time and the homework is worth points, I think that's okay. Even if classes have an attendance policy, usually missing a class or two won't hurt you. I don't recommend this as a general strategy for success, but when I was in undergrad, I skipped classes all the time and still did quite well.
That's good. I'm looking forward to getting my feet wet in the industry. She gave me a few ADR organizations to contact. I hope they need someone.
I know your intern was happy to get that position. I was going crazy here the week before New Years. Cannot stay in the house all day. I'm going to have to train myself to slow down and be ok with down time, even though I crave it now. When I get it, I have no idea what to do with it.
When I have disposable income again, there is definitely going to be more Etsy in my life.
I'm not skipping (though it would be skipping billiards to study for a quiz in history - I'd say history quiz is more important) but I will be suffering tonight and tomorrow.
Way to be disciplined!
At least know you won't be suffering alone. I have a Property midterm on Thursday worth 50% of my grade in that class that I feel woefully unprepared for (plus three other classes to prepare for each day).
I'm sure you do this everyday, but when it's tough, remember how important this was to you and how accomplished you'll feel when it's over. I love the maxim that nothing worth doing is ever easy.
