What's everyone up to for VD (Valentine's Day)?
Re: What's everyone up to for VD (Valentine's Day)?
Lisa! I'm so excited for you! Fingers and organs and legs and everything all crossed up.
I don't think we're doing anything. I'll work, Lorne will probably study. And I think our going to spend the night somewhere this weekend got screwed by his psych rotation. Overnight call on Friday and then back in again on Sunday. Barf.
Thanks and BOOOO!
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
Oh my, maybe that's what the birthday kid meant by double cookie cake. Now, I'm really looking forward to work tomorrow.
Bob has work tomorrow so on Saturday we went to dinner at our new favorite restaurant. Nowhere fancy, just a brewery with really good food. He's awful to shop for so his pick/my treat and then I get a gift.
Then we came home and had amazing cookies from another new favorite place. Tomorrow, we'll eat the dinner he's made for the week and he'll leave for work and I'll watch tv.
Valentines Day for me goes like this- when I had a diick of a boyfriend, I felt like VD was important. Because it was like a day he was forced to not be an a$$hole. And if I remember correctly, he rarely didn't disappoint me. I was always waiting/hoping/wishing/wanting for some grand gesture. Here and there I think he did ok. I sort of remember the first one he f'ed up buying me a candle and some skittles. Anyhoo...
B was good about being all romantic- he was really into that sort of thing. But, for me, since he's just like that, I don't really need it. I mean, it's nice, and I'll take any gifts, especially in the form of jewelry, handbags and sweets anyday. It's just that one, he's more of a spontaneous romancer, he'd rather do it when it's not a Hallmark holiday. And two, these days he's way too stressed out and busy and I highly doubt he's remembering it's VD tomorrow. And I don't care. He did ask me on sat if I wanted to go out to dinner Tues night but I said- um, where? We'll never get a reservation. And really, who is going to babysit?
So, no, we're not doing anything. And I don't care. For real. Not in a girl saying she doesn't care but really cares way.
Yes. This will happen.
Yay Lisa, good luck!
We aren't doing anything tomorrow, but Wednesday we are hanging out with anthony Bourdain at le bernardin.
Mucho likes purple nails and purple cupcakes
I forgot about this. I AM JEALOUS.
Lisa, good luck!!!
Dude. You guys can finally provide proof that you're two separate people!

Aww, I'm so excited. Good luck, Lisa!
We don't really celebrate Vday, but we got tickets to see Itzak Perlman at the symphony at the end of the month. I'm really excited, I've loved Perlman since I saw him on Sesame Street as a kid. (Why yes, I've always been a nerd.) So we're counting that as our Vday present.
Also, Mr M gave me a giftcard he got at work, so I'm buying a sturdy hoe tomorrow. That fits with VD, right? I'm just trying to figure out if I need a wide hoe or a narrow hoe. I've already decided I need a long hoe, short hoes can be hard on your back. Hoes.
"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab
Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
We are like long lost cousins. She is the pretty, fashionable one, and I am the frumpy, gooby one (is that the right word?).
Yes dude! We gotta do this thing.
By the way, I just checked the dates of that tour. One, the second night is my anniversary, and two, Devotchka is opening for them. I don't actually know who the Avett Brothers are, but I love me some Devotchka. If you haven't seen them, they are awesome. And, with Red Rocks as the background, well, that is face melting right there. You'll have a great time.
