So pissed

I'm currently working as a substitute teacher. Went to work today and one of the little sh*ts stole my phone. I'm all sorts of unhappy.

Re: So pissed

  • How do you know one of them stole your phone? Did you report the incident?
  • I reported it.

It was in my purse and then it wasn't. I didn't take it out. It wasn't around the desk anywhere. The pocket of my purse isn't set up in a way for the phone to easily fall out. I know it was in there because I set it to silent before the class started.

  • I am sorry you are dealing with this!
  • That sucks! Do they not give you a locked drawer to keep your personals in? Sad to say but when I was subbing I locked my stuff up. We had more than one electronic device get lifted off of some teachers. Actually, it isn't always the students. Food for thought, at the school I worked at the student teachers were found to be stealing as well as some teachers would jack each other's stuff.

Los Angeles is awesome yo. ;)

  • I'm sorry that happened.

For your next phone, could you set it to vibrate instead of silent, and just tell people to text you first, if they need to reach you during what would be school hours. ( My current phone has a function where you can select vibration style so it will only do a short buzz for texts and a longer one for calls) Then you would at least be able to hear the buzz if it's ringing in some little A*holes backpack.

  • I NEVER had a place to lock things up when subbing--I hated taht and I never ever ever carried cash.

  • Ugh, that stinks so bad. Sorry you have to deal with this. What does the school do in cases like this?
Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)
  • That sucks. If you get it back, check it out thoroughly. My aunt had a 5th grader take inappropriate photos with hers. That was quite a suprise.

  • I sub too. There's never anywhere to lock your stuff up. I always keep my phone in my pant's pocket for that very reason. For my purse I also try for a place that's either out of their reach or behind things in a cabinet so myself or another kid could easily see them poking around where they don't need to be.

My mom's a retired kindergarten teacher. One of her 5th grade helpers stole her phone one year. Ugh. That was so frustrating for her.

    I'm sorry.
