For those of you who are in relationships and/or celebrated V-day...
Did you celebrate yesterday? Get anything good?
Re: For those of you who are in relationships and/or celebrated V-day...
I celebrated with my son. He gave me a stuffed monkey (since this is what I call him), a box of chocolates and flowers. He was sooo excited about giving them to me yesterday morning that he jumped out of bed on time and raced down there stairs.
I celebrated last night with a chick flick and wine. See it is very possible to enjoy a holiday on your own.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
I am visiting D for four days to see if I would enjoy living with him... so far so good.
He made me a dinner of lobster and steak... the man can freaking cook!
When I arrived at the house he wasn't there, but had left a card, chocolates, a dozen roses, a balloon and a gift from VS on the table. The card was wonderful, he wrote a fantastic note and I loved the pj bottoms and tank from VS. I lost a pair the last time I visited and stayed in a hotel, so he tried to pick some similar ones out. Thoughtful man!
Then we had some really great sex!
I feel very blessed to have him in my life...
I cooked (roast beef, roasted broccoli, red wine risotto, and strawberry cheesecake), and BF helped cook and clean up. He got me some ubriacone, which is an Italian cheese aged in wine that I absolutely love, but is nigh impossible to find locally. I got him a drink holder and a drum stick holder, both of which clip onto his new drum set.
We're going to a winemaker's dinner on Saturday night that I'm really excited for. And possibly to a local art exhibit featuring erotic art.
Haha...if this is supposed to be trial living together, he's setting the bar pretty high!
ETA: Edited to fix the location of the smiley face.
I treated myself with chickfila last night and then went with a bunch of girlfriends to a movie. One guy friend came along (we saw "This means war") and he brought us all a yellow rose (even though he didnt know us all!).
p.s. the movie was super duper funny!!!
I don't really like V-day, and I asked him not to get me anything and that I want to treat this day as any other day.
With that said, he and I went for a run with one of my dogs, then we went to the grocery store. He cooked me a fabulous dinner (as always) while I cleaned up his kitchen.
It was really sad, though. When we got to his place with the groceries, we heard yelling. Like really loud yelling. The man was yelling words like, "you effin wh0re" and stuff like that... the BF said it happens frequently.
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
I love Chick-fil-a! So glad they don't have them in MI though, because I would eat it all the time.
I really want to see that movie. Glad you liked it!
I don't really "do" valentine's day (never have), but K sent some flowers anyway. We're getting together this weekend again, but just to watch zombies (again, we're geeks) so they're won't really be any v-day celebrations happening.
"You don't get to be all puke-face about your kid shooting your undead baby daddy when all you had to do was KEEP HIM IN THE FLUCKING HOUSE, LORI!" - doctorwho
We didn't "celebrate" but we did go out to our local SPCA, which had a wine and snacks event with all proceeds going to the SPCA. We drank too much wine and ate lots of sugar and it was a lot of fun! We do this every year, it's always a good time.
FI did get me a box of local caramels/chocolates, which was pretty awesome. We never usually get each other gifts so it was unexpected.
Tuesday seems to be our regular day to get together, so it wasn't anything different than before, lol He asked if I wanted to go out or stay in, and I chose stay in. We lounged around in PJs (the first time we haven't seen each other dressed to go out). He surprised me with a chick flick (Something Borrowed), Reese's PB cups (my favorite) and a card and flowers (daffodils because they're bright and cheery like my smile, he said). No V-Day nookie because of my UTI :-(
In all, it was good.
The new guy I went out with this weekend came over on Monday night since he left for out of town yesterday and I cooked him a late dinner. Steamed tilapia, asparagus and bell peppers. He was pretty impressed.
Last night one of my best girlfriends and I went out to dinner since her BF works out of town. We were asked out by the table of guys dining beside us. It was cute but we declined. I got a pretty pink rose at the restaurant, but don't know how to PIP.
I baked some V-day themed cookies for my coworkers who are awesome! A lot of them got flowers at work from their significant others. They combined some of their flowers to make me a nice bouquet since I didn't get any haha.
Another coworker got me a necklace and still another got me a cute V-day card. My coworkers are my closest friends so they really made my day special
. I am so lucky. For being single, I definitely scored some great stuff.
I did actually have a Valentine though. A guy I have been dating for a bit. We went out to dinner and then had a night in. It was good, quality time. I like the idea of romance but honestly it makes me so uncomfortable that I rather have a chill night and no cutesy gifts.
I got home a little later than normal, so we just grabbed takout from a nearby Mexican restaurant. Then we watched a bunch of tv shows on the DVR. I had bought him a card and some Tootsie Rolls (his favorite) and left them out for him in the morning. When I got home from work he had bought me some chocolate, a card, and a dozen red roses...which were laid out in a heart shape on the bed. It was really sweet. Later on we fooled around a bit too
Congrats!
He got me a face mask and heated thing for my shoulders. I got him shaving and bubble bath stuff from Lush.
No real celebrating...I'm sick and likey need surgery.I can barely eat
Alicia, congrats! I was wondering if anyone was going to end up with a ring!
Carrots, I hope you feel better soon!
thanks all!!!! i still can't believe it, and i'm still in shock
i'll never hate valentines day again
Congrats Alicia!
I had a nice night going to dinner with my mom and her friend then relaxed and took a bath and split a red velvet cupcake with my mom.
We attempted to go out to dinner with DS, but not even a minute after sitting down at our table, DS threw up everywhere with no warning
Needless to say we went home and spent the next 6-7 hours cleaning up puke and consoling a crying toddler. My heart was breaking for him
FF got me a horse charm for my Pandora...because horses are what brought us together 15 years ago
