so today we had another ultrasound and appt with the orthopedist about her hips. I tried not to get my hopes up again and it's a good thing. Her left hip is awesome and her right is still "so close" but not there and he won't let her out until the numbers are exactly what he wants to see. I don't blame him at all and I am glad we are getting this taken care of before surgery is the only option. He says we've come a long way from where we started so that made me feel good.
We go back in 3 weeks to repeat this all over again so we'll see how it goes.
One thing he said today that he'd never told me before was that this whole process can take 3-4 months. All this time I'd been thinking taht every 2 weeks might bring us to get rid of the harness. Had I known this 3-4 month thing in the beginning, I probably wouldn't be so frustrated the past couple of times we've gone! Doc needs to help manage expectations!
I am bummed that now I have to make sure daycare knows what to do with the harness and that I have to keep trekking to Boston once I'm back at work, but hopefully it won't be much longer!

Re: Update on A
Awwww, I wish you knew that ahead of time too but it sounds like he's being very careful and has high hopes for her. I'm sorry it's an ongoing process though.
I'm sure your daycare will be great about it-- you might need to get a doctor's note for their records though. S's daycare has been awesome about patching.

Yay for good progress! I am sorry that he wasn't very upfront with the time frame, but you are right: the most important thing is that he is being cautious (which = best for A) and that this is all being taken care of now.
I agree with the dr's note for day care (ours documents everything!) and I would have very detailed instructions written for them just in case there is a teacher covering or floating who will be watching A that may not be familar with the instructions. I am sure they will be great with it though!
Super bummer! I don't know why he didn't tell you 3-4 months from the get go. Seems like pertinent information.
However, your siggy pic has to be one of the most adorable things I've seen!
Thanks ladies. It's not like he chose not to tell me the timeline, he just never mentioned it!
And I emailed the director of our center to let her know so I'm assuming she'll tell me what I need to bring in with regards to the harness. Luckily, there's not much for them to know - it's all pretty self-explanatory. it only comes completely off if her onesie needs to be changed and the legs come unfastened to change her diaper, but it's all velcro straps, so I'm hoping they're fine with it. And her infant teachers have been there like 20 years, so hopefully A isn't the first harness baby!
