Do people at your gym do this?
Yesterday in bodypump I was doing my thing when I noticed that the girl next to me had taken her shirt off and was in only a sports bra. It was quite distracting due to her overly large, fake chest.
Is it normal to workout sans shirt at your gym? It was the first time I've ever seen anyone do it at any of the gyms I've been a member of.

Re: Do people at your gym do this?
I've never noticed any girls wearing only a sports bra. There's a woman that I know who runs outdoors with just a sports bra sometimes in the summer, and when ever I see her running at the gym she's always wearing a tank.
I've never seen anyone at my gym do it, but then again, almost everyone there is like 65 and older when I'm there, so I don't think I would want to see that!
I've seen girls run outside and run races with only a sports bra, and *most* of them had the body to pull it off. I get extremely hot, so it would be a benefit at times to take my shirt off, but I'm not comfortable enough showing my stomach like that for me to do it.
Why was it distracting to you? Just curious.
yes, the jump rope workout girl does so in just a sports bra. I've seen a few others do it too. But it's not in an overly "look at my boobs" kind of way, they're just regular sports bras, not a "sexy" sports bra.
It doesn't make me uncomfortable to see them, just jealous because the girls that do it have awesome bodies (and no fake boobs, or at least that I can tell)

It was distracting b/c your tatas were freaking enormous
I only saw it a few times...and didn't go unnoticed. It was quite entertaining to watch the men stare when I woman was just in a sports bra from my perch on the treadmill.
In high school and college I would run outside in a sports bra all the time. I had the body for it back then though and it was very comfortable.

I don't know why I typed your.
No, but I go to the YMCA which is very "family friendly" and the rules clearly state that shirts must be worn when working out.

LOL, well, mine are definitely not enormous, that's for sure!

I used to in college, during this class I took that was instructed by a maniac - it was the best class I have ever taken and still, 15 years later, nothing comes close to the intensity level. I would get so hot and back then wicking stuff wasn't as prevalent and I was poor anyway and would be wearing a cotton fraternity keg party shirt.
I was a tiny little 100 pound thing with D cup boobs (real) so I suppose it could have been a bit distracting, but it wasn't my fault I had big boobs. I don't think that chest size should matter, as long as they are strapped down.
ETA: This was not a college gym.

It happens a lot in group fitness at my gym, but not on the gym floor.
It doesn't bother me, I just wish I looked good enough to do it myself (though I wouldn't).

At my new gym I don't see it a lot, but at my old gym I used to. And my response was mostly this:

Not at my gym, but most of the people there are older. At my old gym, where looking pretty was more important than working out, women did this all the time.
I will run in a sports bra outside when it's suuuper hot.
Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!

Not at the gym, but outside for sure. And not now, but 3 kids ago, sure...along w/ my tight little shorts that I can't fit both legs into at the same time now
And I vividly remember captain's practices for high school soccer in the summertime before school started when the entire team would jog by the football practices in our sports bras and we thought we were so cool!
I very rarely workout in a shirt. I think most people here know that, lol.,
But I also very rarely workout in a gym (and when I do, I am in the pool). However, I do take my shirt off when I do spin class because that little studio room gets HOT. I think its uncomfortable to sweat in a shirt.
I am going to try a yoga class at my gym and if the room gets hot, I will take off my shirt. I dunno, that is how I am comfortable so that is what I do.
However, I barely have boobs so I dont know if I am much of a distraction. Although my nipples sometimes get hard?
I work out at a community rec center. Shirts are required.
However, I run outside and CrossFit in just a sports bra. My boobs are super sad after nursing two kids though. . . so I don't think it's distracting.
