Randoms for Friday the 17th
WHAT UP!!!!!
The Today show did not help puppy fever this morning as they showed 5 dogs up for adoption.
We did our Taxes last night and we came out without owing anyone!!
Weekend Plans anyone. We have a birthday party and and get together with a friend so we are booked.
DH is out at a client today as they are moving their office place.
Re: Randoms for Friday the 17th
Good morning!
I'm making homemade Tomato Bisque tonight for dinner. Tomorrow we're going mattress shopping and then we'll finish the afternoon at Red Lobster to use up a gift card. Other than that, we'll have the normal clean and baby cuddling sessions
Good morning!
Deeder, great news on your taxes coming out in your favor!
I talked to my yoga instructor about my neck last night. She was quite adamant that I need to see a chiropracter.
I'll be exhausting all other options before I get to that point, thought.
Yay for not owing any money in taxes!!
Tomorrow, Henry is heading to my IL's for the day. We are planning on getting a bunch of work done around the house. Maybe we will fit in a leisurely dinner before we pick him up.
He is officially sitting in a regular chair at the table with us now - no booster. The highchair (Ikea, btw, love it.) will be put away until #2 needs it. Yay!! Less food on the floor and more room in the dining room.
Good morning!
I am so glad to have that midterm behind me. There is a small mountain of work to do between now and spring break, but I'll get started on that after class. For now I'm spending a little bit of time catching up on the world.
This weekend L is coming here. We have fun plans to get Slows to go tonight, go to Root tomorrow for a multi-course dinner, and brunch in Royal Oak on Sunday which will be the first meeting of my law school friends and pre-law school friends.
Good luck with the neck issues, Kasa. Have you ever gotten a massage? Has that helped?
Morning! Happy Friday.
Congrats on getting that midterm out of the way DP. When is your spring break? Sounds like you have a nice weekend ahead of you.
I think everyone knows my "weekend" schedule already. 7 more weeks of this hell, then 2 finals and done!!! Whooo
So glad I didn't see that this morning. We were all set to get a new puppy this next week and then decided to back out because I was dreading the thought of keeping up after a 1 year old and an 8 week old puppy. Plus I felt guilty for getting a puppy from a breeder and not adopting one from a shelter. But I still really want a dog so seeing them makes me sad we aren't getting one now. Our dog passed away when my daughter was 5 weeks old and the house still feels "empty" without a furry friend around. Someday we'll get one again...
My husband took my car (along with the carseat) to work today so we are stuck at home. But this will be a good thing. It will force me to be productive at home and not spend the day running around. Saturday we have Hannah's 1 year pictures and then a 1st birthday party on Sunday for a little friend of her's from her Gymboree class. So we will be on the go for the weekend.
Happy Friday everyone!
Morning!
Yay for not owing on taxes...I'm STILL waiting for documents ::shakes fist::
Kasa, hope your neck feels better soon. I know chiro's can work magic but I've never been because I'm a scaredy cat.
We are going to Toledo to see friends this weekend. They have a daughter 3 weeks older than Ben and they are a riot together! AND I'm getting a new tattoo while I'm there. SUPER excited!!
Gotcha. It's nice that you get a break. I'm not sure if I'd love it or hate it though. On one hand. My goodness how I'd love a break from this...hullabaloo, but then it's good to just grind it out and be done.
It's kind of like a midterm, there are definitely pros and cons. And now I'm thinking like a lawyer--could definitely argue that either one is better
I'm glad I have a break, but I'm definitely at the point where I feel like I really need it.
It's a nice and sunny day.
I got taxes done - I am not owing anyone, am getting a return, etc. I have some bills that I have to pay and get out of the way.
I have a gripe though and maybe it's my own fault. I talk to aunt about everything including financial situations. She knows that I am filing bankruptcy but havent come up with the rest of the money to finish the process yet. She's always on my case about it. I am fulfilling other financial ogligations that I have - paying my brother for helping with the car repairs and some other stuff. This will work itself out with the bankruptcy and getting it done. I am going to continue to search for a part time job so I can knock out the rest of the money on this. I am just sick of her sticking her nose in it. I am not longer discussing financial things with her I have decided. Gets me know where. Know what I mean???
Anyways thanks for letting me vent. Hope that everyone has a good day. I dont want any of those flurries that they were talking about.
WOP - I love mattress shopping. It's fun. I always liked Sleep Doctor.
Ugh, I'm scarred for life.
Using a mortgage to buy a house is really stressful.
I *think*, after killing eleventy billion trees, my loan officer has everything she needs. The only thing she didn't ask for was my first born son. (Yay, T! You're staying with mommy!)
Closing next week.
I say this everytime, but this is the last time I buy a house using a mortgage.
Hannahs mom, when I adopted Arlo he was a year old. It was perfect for me. He was past all of the needy puppy stuff, and still young enough to be pliable. I'm sure you might be able to find the perfect match on Petfinder by searching for baby or young dogs.
Yay to not owing taxes for you all.
Charity, it's okay for you to tell your aunt that you're not discussing finances with her anymore.
DP and B&G, here's hoping you both get some relaxing in soon. I'm 2 weeks into my 4 weeks of no class. It's so nice to not have to carry a textbook with me everywhere, but I kind of miss it, too.
Kasa, is the neck pain still as intense as it was a few days ago?
hope that everything goes well
Jim's hosting the Special Olympics polar plunge in Holland this weekend. Just this week, he decided to jump in the water too.
The rest of our weekend will be cleaning, and probably a family movie night.
Nick and I were talking about how much we look forward to this when Renee (and phantom child #2) gets older.
No, it's gradually getting better. It feels much better than it did on Wednesday morning.
Most interestingly, the pain is moving. It started at the top of my neck and it's worked it's way down to where it's now concentrated on my lower neck and upper back. Weird.
My mom's theory is that I have an inflamed disc. My theory is that she's wrong. I think it's more muscular. That and I refuse to be beginning that cervical disc issues BS. Nope. Not doing that yet.
My hopes are that a new pillow, a heating pad, not sitting in front of the computer over the weekend, and more time will fix it by Monday. If not, I'll probably see a doctor next week.
Diana, I got a massage once. I wasn't having neck issues at the problem though, so I don't know if it would help.
We just refinanced and it reminded me again what a PIA the process is. Thankfully, my husband handled everything, so I really don't have anything to complain about. Still, it's quite the process.
All that work, and the banks still sucked and caused the collapse of our economy. Huh.
So close!! Yay!!
Pro list.
Plus family game night. I have really fond memories from family game night when I was growing up.
Haha, no kidding!
Can you tell me what it's like to have an H that can do all the dirty work for this kind of thing? I'm so jealousE. Haha.
I'm always the one to find the houses, research the loan crap, find all the documents, etc, etc, etc. All he does is look at the house, say yay or nay, and shows up at closing to sign the papers. Sigh.
LOVE family game night.
He's pretty awesome. I like him.
He may not be able to remodel the kitchen like some husbands, but our taxes and mortgages are ship-shape!
Speaking of him, I am still finding valentines. This morning I found one tucked in my box of coffee filters!
When we were dating Jim played board games with me all the time. After we got married, he told me he doesn't really enjoy them. Misrepresentation!
Right now family game night is me hyping it up to Jim, who gets competitive with our small children. Willa pouts if she isn't in the lead, and Henry usually ends up wandering off or spreading small pieces.
This is why we're doing family movie night instead.
That is adorable!
lol. I love the insight into your family! I think reasons similar to these is why my mom quit family game nights.
