Randoms for Friday the 17th
Re: Randoms for Friday the 17th
I love this story. Every bit of it.
I can't believe you only have seven weeks to go, seriously, that is awesome. It's going to fly by. And days like today make me realize that from here on out the days will tend to get warmer and longer as the semester winds down.
I had Jimmy John's too! Stole it from the federalist society meeting.
I love Scrabble and would love a nestie scrabble night. L and I theoretically don't mind playing games, but never do just the two of us and we don't really have a good circle of local friends that would be into it. We love Catchphrase.
We play Words with Friends and Scramble with Friends on our phones when its just the two of us playing games. We also love card games, especially Cribbage.
We also love Catchphrase and Cranium.
I can't believe it either. I just got an email earlier this week asking for confirmation on my info because they will be ordering diplomas March 16 or something.. I think "Myyyyy goodness that's soon!"
Way to score the free lunch! It's my favorite kind.
I've played Mad Gab with my extended family! I don't think there was any drinking at the time, though. It's fun, though.
When I am back to living there full time, we should get together for catch phrase!
It's sort of hard to get L out of his shell and make new friends, though. I think it's one of our biggest weaknesses as a couple--neither of us are good at making new friends.
I recently told one of my classmates that I would have come to law school years earlier if I had known there was so much free food involved.
Yet, again.
If L and B ever met, they'd either become BFFs or they'd hate each other because they're so alike.
I'm in!
I feel like introducing L to spouses of my friends is like trying to matchmake. The best example of my utter failure to be successful at this is when I introduced a friend's kitten to Gandalf by setting it in front of her and saying "BE FRIENDS!!!!" Hissing, growling and no friendship ensued.
This is hilarious. Mostly because now I'm picturing B and L hissing and growling at each other.
I believe GRSP and GVSU tried to matchmake their husbands before. I don't recall how well that worked out. Check in, ladies!
Congrats! What did you get? And now i'd like to see how ugly a sweater would have to be to win.
dup.
L can't keep up with me in Scrabble. I'd beat the pants off him if he ever consented to a game with me. He knows this, thus the refusal to play.
This made me lol. Which is a much more pleasant sound than the only other lame-o in the library on a Friday afternoon who sounds like he is hacking up both lungs.
Somehow, I imagine GRSP and GVSU to be much more astute matchmakers than me. When you check in, share your skillz.
Pretty ugly! Here is my H wearing the infamous sweater at a party a few years ago. I was 8 months pregnant and fat and huge-boobed.
I won a pedometer. lol.
Is that an old school Coogi??? LOL
And I think you two are so adorable!
Lots of pretty ladies on this board!
Freakin hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freakin hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hee hee...They already knew each other because we had done some family stuff together and they got along well. I told TH that we was going to Bdub with Jim but then TH told me that the guys could hang out at the house with Amy and I.
I got pissy about it, because that wasn't the point. However, he did point out that there was a big game on TV that night, so the bar would be busy. So we banished the guys to the basement. I still giggle when I think of Jim and TH sitting on the fouton watching a game that they really weren't interested in. One of them said something about feeling like they were being set up on a date.
Jim has suggested they meet for lunch sometime but they work complete opposite sides of town.
I'm supposed to be cleaning....and I'm not. I have an hour to clean and start getting ready. I dropped the girls off at my parents house for the weekend. Allison told me a few weeks ago that she wanted to go to Nana's house but I wasn't allowed to stay, nor was her Dad. Ok. then! I'm good with that.
We are going out to dinner with a friend tonight. We are meeting up at 6 pm, so we are going to go to one of the Gilmore resturants for their happy house drinks. Whoo hoo!!!
Tomorrow I have to work for a few hours. Hopefully this gives TH some time to get a few things done around the house.
Aw, poor guys! This is funny and cute.
ETA: By the way, this reminds me a little of Diana's cat story. "BE FRIENDS!!"
It's for their own good, I know.
Ok, last story before I go clean.
On the way to my parents, the girls watched Lion King (they have seen it a few times before). When I took Allison out of her car seat, she look at me and said "I want the Lion King to be ok"....lip quivers, eyes tear up....and then a complete pouty lip and full blown crying.. Then she was embarrased about crying.
Oh my, I felt so bad for her.
Aw, poor Allison. The Lion King is a heart-breaking movie.
Aw, ditto. I remember being severely traumatized first by Bambi and then again by The Lion King.
