Clothing on long flights

Re: Clothing on long flights

  • I wear jeans all day everyday to work, so I'm definitely a jeans girl, but I really hate wearing denim on planes. I also refuse to travel in yoga pants because despite their comfort, for me yoga pants are for when I'm doing yoga, lounging at home, or coming home from surgery, and not for out in public.  Especially since I don't change when I land, I just want to go and start my vacation.

My last few flights I've worn cargo pants or a pair of drawstring linen pants that I picked up on clearance at Anthropologie a few years back.  I love the linen pants -- super comfy, light weight, and stylish; I wish I had more pairs!

I also wear lace up shoes, because I need my orthotics and flats just don't offer enough support.  I'd rather take and extra 2 minutes at security putting my shoes back on than have my knees and hips ache.

btw, a flight attendant tip I picked up here on The Nest years ago is to wear a panty liner on a long flight. Take it ut and throw it away mid-trip to feel "fresh" without dealing with trying to change underwear. Probably TMI, but I still do this. Even though my flights aren't as long as they were when I lived in Beijing, with layovers and getting to the airport, it makes for looong days.

This is a great tip, thanks!
