It's THE baby shower day today - UPDATE -
All guests are coming from OOT.
All guests have to drive the same distance basically. Around 1.5 hours.
We're having lunch at a Vietnamese place and they (shower people) are asking $12 for the food. Then it's paying activities again. I am not even sure we (the guests) will go to their house because the mom-to-be banned permanently on of the guests from entering her home.
I seriously hope they'll allow the 10 of us to at least have a seat at their place and have a glass of orange juice, for FREE.
XH should be there too.

This whole thing seems very WEIRD to me. Wait, do you have to pay for your own activities too???
Please explain
I have a few questions.
1. Did you post details about this at some point? I'm intrigued.
2. Why would someone go to a shower for a person who banned them from her home.
Actually it was a lot of fun!
1. XH wasn't there and since it was the 1st time I was seeing friends we had in common since the divorce process started, they had a lot of compliments for me and were genuinely caring about me.
2. I won all the games. I managed to figure out all the baby food flavors. I got a ton of prizes.
3. The mom-to-be bought top of the line ice-cream treats for everyone.
4. We then went to her house and had fun watching little kids. We didn't do the paying activities.
5. One of the women's husband works where I want to be transfered so I did some work connections!!! He is also friend with a guy in HR at my company HQ, who also happens to be from my country. He is going to help me get over there. After what just happened at my job on Thursday, this is great!
6. I forgot the baby gifts, oops. I'll mail them on Monday.
All in all, it was a 110% win for me! I love this outcome.
Its extraordinarily tacky to have guests pay at the shower. WTF.
I would have RSVP-ed no. Messed up.
Uh. I don't think you need to go, lol.
Edit: oops, didn't see the update. Glad you won all the prizes!
Glad it went well after all!
I've only had to pay for my meal at a baby shower when we went out to dinner for a CW's shower.
