Hi everyone. Hope all is well this morning. After grinning and bearing with it last night with Mike, I was able to get his w2s and the kids info out of him to email it to my aunt to do his taxes. Stupid men. And it's in his favor because he gets to claim both kids this year.
Re: Tuesday Randoms
Good morning.
I bought an amarylis bulb right after Christmas. When it started growing, I knew I got lucky. Usually they have one stalk for flowers. This one has 3! They're starting to bloom now. So pretty!
I did a bunch of cleaning yesterday. The baking soda/lemon juice scrub I made combined with washing my hands a bajillion times has tried out my hands so much.
I just ate some fresh strawberries. Deeeeelicious! :::stay down, stay down, stay down:::
I just need to find the motivation.
All of the bosses are out of the office today. I might sneak out a few minutes early.
Hello my ladies!
Yesterday I forced myself out of my comfort zone and attended a La Leche meeting. Now I am mad at myself for not going sooner. The women were all so nice and normal! (My MIL had me convinced that La Leche members were all a bunch of crazies)
Yay for flowers blooming!
Do you mind sharing your baking soda/lemon juice combination for cleaning? What surfaces do you use it on?
Good for you, Mira! I'm so happy that you went, that you enjoyed it, and that the members didn't have 2 heads.
La leche does have a reputation. I like to think of them as breastfeeding support ninjas.
Hoek, I just make a paste. It's probably close to 2:1 (baking soda to lemon juice), and I use it to scrub sinks, and the tub. I've used it on our tile floors, too. Careful, though: I used it on our kitchen table once to get a stubborn mess off. I let it sit too long and the acid from the lemon juice took some of the finish off of our table.
I also use baking soda with vinegar for cleaning.
We buy baking soda in the big bag at Sam's Club.
Great. I need something good for our tub and kitchen sink, so this should be perfect.
You don't by any chance have a secret vinegar based potion for window washing do you? We have original lead glass windows in our dining room that do not respond well to commercial cleaning products. I have found a number of combinations by searching the internet, but I would rather get a rec from someone I know.
I don't have any window suggestions. Jim has an unnatural love for cleaning windows and windex. I got him to use vinegar once, but he didn't like it because it wasn't blue.
I love using vinegar to clean. www.vinegartips.com gave me some great ideas.
Delicious, but not essential. If they weren't here at work, I wouldn't go out of my way to get one.
Thanks, GRsp. I will check out that site.
And go on with your bad self, Jim. If Mike wanted to do windows, I would let him use all the Windex he wanted
I don't like them, so not at all essential.
I love them! So deffinatly a yes for me!
My monsters also like them so usually just end up buying a 6 pack at Meijer. They are not the best around but they work and then there is 1 for each of us.
My MIL plays the paczki fairy today. Every year she drives around delivering the best delicious paczki to Mike's extended family. I don't know where she gets them, but they beat the spodnie off any other paczki I have had.
As yummy as they are, paczki are not essential to us. It isn't our decision if we have them in our house or not, though. She is going to drop them off and won't take no for an answer. This year I am feeling especially fat for Fat Tuesday, so I am not particularly looking forward to the deep fried dough goodness.
Morning!
I can't take too much of the paczki- I only like apple and strawberry and they never seem to have those falvors (around here anyway) so whatever. Not essential.
We have apple ones here at work today
I'll be right over <gathering coat and purse>
I'll save one for you
My mom used to make her own version of paczki. Those were good.
Otherwise I never really have them ever. But I could totally go for one right now!
Hey Ladies. I'm trying to walk the laxy side of the "satisfactory performance of job duties" line. Considering one of the guys napped then played his guitar, I think I'm doing a good job. I made a little paper guy and colored today...
GRSP, my peonies and the earliest tulips are poking up. I don't know whether to be scared for them or celebrate.
I meant to stop for paczki today but forgot. There are some here though, I had a raspberry-filled for lunch. Nom.
Maybe group yoga tomorrow? Or random costume contest? What a weird situation.
Your flower leaves are going to be fine. Mine are up too. It's about 3 weeks earlier than usual, but they'll be fine.
freaking Nest. Duplicate.
Flowers - I was gifted an amarylis (sp?) and it bloomed the first year, but no luck the past 2. The added green leaves in the house are still nice though.
Paczki - Never had one.
JGE - Not sure if you can share here, but what's going on at your work (the term "work" being applied loosely there ;-) )
Is any one giving up anything for Lent? If so, what?
