image

I really love my shopping freeze because I end up remembering old stuff.  I think I've only worn this dress once before, but I really like it.

Dress - Rodarte for Target, Jacket - Gap, Shoes - ATL (they're velvet with a little satin bow)

Jewelry similar to yesterday.

Necklace - J. Crew, bracelets - etsy, Madewell, Bhati Beads

Re: Wednesday OOTD

  • that is a cute dress SB!

    image

blue top-tjmaxx, black bolero-jcpenney, jeans-levis, my MIL boots. look of consternation-8:00am on humpday.

    image
  • I love that top Katie!  The color is great with your skin and hair, and I like all that stuff going on at the neck.

  • SB, I love that dress.  Katie, cute top and the color is great on you.

I tried adding more color today.

top and cardigan from TJ Maxx, pants from I'm not sure, probably Kohl's or TJ Maxx

  • thank you! i wasn't sure if the tie-flappy thing on the shirt would be hidden/look weird under the sweater, but i also don't want bare arms.
    image
  • mashed, i like the color combo. you look beautiful today~
    image
  • oh, I also have a question.  the top of my shirt has a drapey front, not quite cowl neck, I'm not sure you can see it in the picture but hopefully you know what I mean.  Is it ok to wear a necklace with this type of "collar"?

  • i say yes, as long as you keep it simple. the necklace you have on looks fine.

    image
  • Mashed, I think your necklace is fine.  I would stick to something above the neckline of the shirt with that style.  But you look great.

I especially love the color combo you have going on.

  • SB, I love that dress! And Is that the enamel locket? I saw it on your blog and coveted it.

Katie, that color looks fabulous on you.

Mashed! I think this is the skinniest you've ever looked! I love that cardigan. Great color. I agree that the necklace is fine above the collar.

This is my favorite "throw on and go" dress. I have it in a mushroom-y brown, too. I wore the hell out of both of them this summer. They're a lovely drapey jersey. I got them at Marshalls. Can't really see but tights are dark grey cable-knit. Boots are the usual Steve Madden riding boots. Cardigan is, as always, Old Navy.

Close-up of necklace. I love this necklace. It has a little wooden hummingbird. It's from Forever 21.

  • Mashed, I think a thin above the neckline necklace like you have on is fine. I wouldn't do anything that would drape into the cowl though.

Moo, I have a dress like that and I love it for casual cuteness.

I hate Wednesday OOTD because I don't usually shower and get ready until Stinker's nap at noon and by the everyone's done with the post.

    image
  • moo, here is a list of things you are as cute as or cuter than today: a button, a bushelful of puppies, a hummingbird, a slow lori that likes to be tickled. if we lived in the same town you could borrow my humming bird scarf :)

marshalls/tjmaxx is the SPOT for throw on and go dresses!

    image
  • cute outfit, moo.  I remember when you bought that dress (I think it was this one), you posted about it and I went to Marshalls that day looking for it.  Sadly I didn't find it, we could have been OOTD twins.

  • everybody looks great today.  SB and Moo, I love your dresses.  Katie, the top is great, and Mashed, I love the top and cardigan (and sassy look).

Sweater, cami, and pants - all Ann Taylor.  The sweater is a sort of weird fit and I'm not sure it's super flattering.  It's a weird gold material with slight dolman sleeves, and a little loose in the midsection but not loose enough I think. Hmmm.  The pants look weird at this angle, but they are my all time favorite pants - they are so comfy and just body skimming enough without looking crass.  Here's my favorite part of the outfit:

I trust you remember these: my only pair of full priced Jimmy Choo shoes.  And here's Miles this morning:
    image

Still in his monkey pjs (Carter's).  You can't see it here, but he's also holding a Curious George stuffed animal and interestingly enough, "Go Bananas" by the Fresh Beat Band is blaring in the background.

  • November, I love those shoes!  I wonder if Payless makes something similar.

  • Stupid nest ate my post!! I had lots of comments that I now don't remember.

I really love your dress SB. A lot.

My look today is brought to you by Target (shocking!) and 75 degree weather in February.

  • Payless probably does and they are probably more comfortable than these. HT, I love the shirt you are wearing. I was debating buying it a while back from ATL and decided not to. This is one of my life's big regrets because I think at least twice a month, "you know what would look nice with these pants? That shirt I didn't buy at ATL. WAY TO GO, SELF".

  • HT, I love your shirt.

Wendy, you look great.  I've always wanted a yellow cardigan but I don't think I've found a yellow that looks good on me, that yellow looks great on you and I want your legs.

  • Also, I tried on Kristen's dress yesterday (in navy/white) and I was sad that I'm such a midget. The sleeves were like a mile to long and it just seemed mis-proportioned.

Are you sure you want them? They're only 2.5 feet tall!

  • HT- I like your elastic shoes. They're real stretchy. (No, seriously, I want purple stretchy flats).

Nov- I think you're crazy and that that sweater is super-flattering to your frame!

Wendy- Cute cardigan! And I think you're right about the stripey dress. The shape is great for you but the stripes overwhelm your frame.

ha! but they have great muscle tone!

and you definitely have the right figure for kb's dress, but I think it would look better on you if it were shorter.

  • Wendy, I love your look today!  Bright and cheery.

I think you were right on the striped dress.  It's not just that it's too long.  The tie should be higher too.  It overwhelms you as is.

  • ok where did i leave off? HT, i like your blouse! i'm sorry you are so tired today.

Nov you always look very chic. always!

I'm always impressed by how you dress your petite athletic frame. you do a good job. i can completely relate to the short part anyway! i also agree that you always look great in yellow.

i see what you mean about the stripey dress.it is flattering to your figure but the lengths arms and legs wise is too much. and i think the stripes are too loud for you. it is kind of doing this to my eyes:

  • SB - I adore the pattern ONI that dress.  Mashed - great use of COLOR!  (jazz hands). HT - that polka dot blouse is adorable.  I love polka dots.  Nov, you look polished as always.  From the picture, I like the cut of the sweater.  And the shoes are to die for.  And Miles is getting so big!  Where does the time go?  Wendy, the bold colored sweater with the LBD is a great mix, but I agree you're swimming in the striped dress.

  • I missed Katie!  Love that shade of blue on you.

  • It's a CASUAL DAY!  I decided after seeing this picture that I looked too shapeless, so I buttoned up the cardigan. image

I think the blouse and cardigan are both Old Navy.  No clue on the jeans.  Shoes also by Old Navy.  So much colorful cheap clothing today!  Leaf necklace from CMC two. Christmases afo.

  • Even though I said I wouldn't play here I am. I thought I'd practice taking my picture. Obviously I am not good at it. And this is what I look like pretty much every day for work or play. How do y'all manage to hold the camera, look in the mirror, pose, and still look good?? SB, Kristen & Christin especially- you guys are pros..Now Im going to go back and look at everyone else's.
