Re: Wacky Wednesday Wandoms
That whole story was incredibly sad and scary. I do hope they catch the shooter.
Speaking of kids movies that make you cry... Up?
Henry is worn out today. He spent the first part of his morning with one friend, and then the next with 4 others. All girls. Moms of boys, wanna get a playdate on the books? This kiddo is surrounded by pink.
Up nearly made DH cry.
There is a skunk running around my "Aunt's" place on the NE side of town. 2 of here dogs had close encounters of a smelly kind.
We would!
I'm not sure how much fun we can offer since my Henry is only 2 and doesn't really speak much yet! But he loves cars and knocking down towers.
Hoek, it's perfect! Henry T doesn't listen to anything anyone else says anyway!
What days are good for you? Am I remembering a dog fear? Maybe at the library where we danced?
PS, the dogs... those sweet dogs... ate the truffles that were left on Sunday. Big grrrr to them.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough week. Law school kind of sounds like an intense roller coaster ride. The good news is that the end of your first year is in sight, right? Then it will be better.
((((HUGS))))
Definitely. This year especially when it's so new and things feel so out of my control. Oddly, some things have happened this week that have built my confidence about being good at practicing. It's just incredibly frustrating to do all of the little things right--putting in the time, paying attention in class and be outscored by people who spend a significant portion of their time playing words with friends.
Are we talking chocolate truffles or black/white $$$ truffles here?
Only a true foodie would find this statement ambiguous
Oh man, I'm sorry you're having such a hard week. :-(
You are smart. You are not inadequate. You will get through this week, this class and this degree.
You are plenty smart. You stop that right now missy! MCs and I don't get along either. You just kill the essays to make up for it. So, mideterms are over. Look forward to your Spring break. You'll come back relaxed and refreshed to finish strong.
I've felt what you're feeling pretty much every semester. It's a grind for sure. But you can do this!!! You know what I've noticed? Those who get the super great grades all the time don't juggle life as well as others. They are super focused on that one thing. This is not the absolute rule of course. Just a little observation of mine.
I hope the week ends quickly for you and you feel better soon.
DP: would you let a boss "make" you feel inadequate and not smart? No. And law school is not even the boss of you! I've never gone to law school. I've never gone surfing. But it sounds like there are quite a few parallels. It's a lot of hard work, and thrilling, and there's a lot of preparing for conditions to be right to be awesome. There are times when you have to paddle harder to get to where you need to go.
Hang ten, dude. And be nicer to yourself.
They were appricot, coconut, almond truffles. I made them last week, and there were too many. Then there were none.
And damn, all this time and I still want one. :P
I love this metaphor.
Well, I am glad that this will work for Henry T. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays work best for us. I am a sissy around dogs at first, but Henry has no fear. Library would be fun. We have never been to FMG so that would be cool to check out.
You come to the next GR GTG, and I'll make a whole batch for you (and Hoek who I promised some to).
You've gotta go to the gardens! Let's set something up for next week or the week after I'll message you.
We look forward to it!!
If anyone else is interested in joining, speak up!
The more the merrier and all that.
Thanks for all the love, ladies. I wasn't really trying to fish for encouragement or compliments as much as just putting it out there to get it off my chest.
On a more exciting note, I took yesterday evening mostly off from school-related torture to attend a free show in Ann Arbor with one of my classmates. It was amazing. We saw Next to Normal with a theater student cast. It isn't exactly a feel-good musical, but was very powerful and moving. I am so glad I decided to go--committing to these things is sometimes a challenge for me.
Such naughty dogs! Lucky they are cute and cuddly.
Ahem, Miss Representation screening anyone?
No way. Any other time, but I'll be in charge of the event, and the 7 HS girls leading up to that night.
I didn't think you were looking for compliments. But it seemed you were down and being hard on yourself. And it's our job to pick each other up.
