WOW. My grandma went to the pharmacy and paid 25c. for her drivers license. no test. My test was fairly lengthy but during drivers training I never learned how to parallel park because we ran out of time, so my dad had to teach me before the test.

Technically I had a "limited" drivers license which meant I could only drive between the hours of 6AM-10PM but I didn't have to have someone over the age of 21 drive with me like I did when I had my permit (15). I gained a "full" license when I turned 16.
The test around the park is a true story. My dad laughs about how my brothers had to go through jumps and hoops to get their drivers license in CA and all I did was flash a smile and drive around a park to get mine. LOL

. My parents did the home taught drivers ed so they were my "teachers". I just read the handbook, got my permit, waited the stupid 6 months to get my drivers license, went to the place and got it. No driving test

I told FI that the other day and he couldn't believe it! (He got is license in Louisiana)
My dad gave up on me to parallel park...It took me a few years after I already had my license, but I finally got it.
Lol, I had a heck of a time trying to parallel park with my Neon, my dad's Dodge Ram 1500 with a standard transmission, somehow I had no problem. And now my own truck is also a piece of cake. I still struggle with my husband's Subaru...something about small cars and me don't mix, lol.
