Agreed-depends. He has been to two of my 5K races but they were b/c we were meeting up with some friends afterwards.
This is me too. H and I try to pick races we both want to do.

DH comes with me to one or two cyclocross races a year and races. He didn't last year b/c he was injured, but he drove me to my weekend of races that was 4 hours away and cheered me on. He couldn't ride anyway that weekend b/c he just got injured.
He doesn't come to any of my mountain bike races. He gets bored. He'd rather be riding. I don't blame him. You only get to see the person once every 30-45 minutes. It is boring.
