If Newt were to leave the race who would he endorse

santorum, romney or do you think he'd take his ball home?

Re: If Newt were to leave the race who would he endorse

  • I doubt he'd endorse anyone right away. I think he'd lurk in the background hoping that the party will woo him at the convention (buy his Romney endorsement with a prime speaking spot) or that he can play kingmaker in a brokered convention.

  • I wonder if he would try to broker a VP deal. I could see the GOP trying to sell a Romney/Gingrich ticket.

but Romney supposedly has brokered a Romney/Rand Paul ticket with Ron Paul.....

  • He is not going to leave the race and IMO is staying in just to make a play later at the convention.  He will never officially support Romney . He has a grudge against him  because of the way Romney treated him early in the campaign.
  • Newt is a big ass fuuking baby. No way he's endorsing anyone.

And can we talk about how the republican primary race has pretty much poisoned the water for the general? I really want to stab people in the eye. Santorum and Newt should have bowed out ages ago, much like Huckabee and company should have bowed out earlier last go round.

And if I hear "HE'S NOT A REAL CONSERVATIVE!!!ELEVENTY!" one more time, I might effin scream.

  • He was just on Laura Ingraham while I was on my way to work.  He said the reason he is staying in the race is because he feels if he were to drop out Romney's Super PAC would go full force against Santorum and it would guarantee a Romney victory.  He thinks that having the attacks split against Newt and Santorum is hurting Romney right now, and that's the goal.  He also said he still feels he has a chance.

Well picking Santorum as the nominee GUARANTEES an Obama reelection.

I love this idea.  Then he can become a Dom DeLuise impersonator.

HAB yesterday on NPR's all things politics show they mentioned that Gingrich seems himself as the Abe Lincoln of 2012. Lincoln went into the 1860 convention in 3rd place and came out the winner....

This scares the ever-loving schit out of me, I have seen way too much support for Paul on my facebook. I sooo hope Santorum gets the nomination.

OMG that is hilarious.  Doesn't he have a massively inflated opinion with himself, along with no understanding of how times have changed since then?
