@ Sturdy sandals vs. sneakers
God forbid I find normal, affordable sneakers in DDs size right now. Maybe they are all just low on stock? I got 3 pairs of sandals but the thicker kind with a sneaker-like sole that she could wear socks in if needed, and one more formal pair.
Does she need a pair of actual sneakers too or am I over thinking this? I guess she'd only *really* need them in more damp situations but then there is always rain boots?
Re: @ Sturdy sandals vs. sneakers
I really love Saucony for L. They are affordable (and frequently go on sale on Striderite) and last a long time. They are easy for her to put on, too.
I don't think your kid necessarily needs a pair, though, especially if you have a thicker soled mary jane type shoe.
for the summer my kids usually get shoes like Keens or striderite makes a sneaker/sandal.
I think as long as they have sturdy shoes they can run in, they don't need proper sneakers.
