Re: H&F Open Letter Thursday

  • Dear trainer:

You have 20 days to get ready for me. Hope you can keep up, because I'm ready to destroy some workouts.

    xoxo

  • Dear Knees and left foot,

The half was three weeks ago and I would like to enjoy my runs again without you chiming in that you are hurting.  And Left Foot, don't think you can that you can decide to go out on me too.  It was not fun trying to walk the last two days with my arch killing me.  I'm trying to get to the shoe store to buy new running shoes to hopefully get the two of utes to leave me alone and let me run in peace.

  • Dear Portland/Seattle weather-

Please, give it a rest. I'd love to run outside this week. And, for my 15K on Sunday in Portland? Not jazzed about the 40 & raining forecast.

    Dear work-

I detest the fact that I can no longer work out on my lunch hour. I'm a zombie by the time I get the kids to bed, and have to force DH to force me to work out.

    Love,

    Me

  • Dear Humidity,

You suck!  I'm just as slow running at sea level in this awful humidity as I am running at 5300 ft.  I'd rather run at altitude.  This is how much I dislike you.  3 more weeks, and I'm done with you.

    Signed,

    Dear BAA,

Please respond to my email.  I have sent it to the only 2 email addresses I could locate for you.

    From,

A very pregnant marathoner hoping you find some room in your heart to allow me to defer to 2013.

    Dear Brooks Ravenna's,

Please feel good on my feet tonight.  My adrenalines are starting to get up there in mileage and for $44, I couldn't help but pick a pair of you up from Running Warehouse.  It would be very nice for you to work out so that I can hold off on the 2012 adrenalines or pure cadence until AFTER I have the baby.

    signed,

my narrow, long feet in need of some new kicks!

Hahaha, I got the same ones - $44 was too good to pass up.  But, if they don't work for running, they can my new playground sneaks!

Also, why did you back out of Boston, I mean, other than the fact that you will be well into your 3rd trimester (hehehe).  Was there a medical issue, or just a general feeling that it would be too much?  Just wondering.  You are a rock start either way!

I read a lot of airlines won't allow you to fly if you are past 32 weeks pregnant, which I will be.  I can't drive alone since it will be a 13 hour trip and refuse to take the 17 hour train. and there is the amount of money we would spend on the trip if I did go.  We are neck deep in remodeling our kitchen, need to decorate the baby's room and need to tile our basement.  I just felt that this was the only logical decison.

It sucks, but I know Boston isn't going anywhere.  it gives me a post-pregnancy goal.  Big Smile

Exactly!  And I can't wait to follow that journey too :)
