George Clooney arrested, handcuffed, outside Sudan embassy in D.C.
By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper
No, it wasn't for a movie.
Actor George Clooney, long a political activist, was arrested and
handcuffed outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington for protesting the
country's blockage of food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains
area of the country.
Because the embassy is private property, Clooney and colleagues knew standing there and refusing to move would end in arrest, The Washington Post reported. The newpaper's website posted photos of the actor and other protestors being handcuffed and taken away by police.
Clooney's father, journalist Nick Clooney, 78, was reportedly with him and was also arrested.
Re: George Clooney arrested at DC protest
Ewww, really ladies? He always looks like he hasn't bathed in weeks.
Fun fact my ex SIL lives directly across the Ohio River from Clooney's parents and babycopz still to this days tries to see if George is home,
yeah he's been way too smarmy lately for me - by far.
however, this puts him in a little bit of a better light.
I would love to handcuff George.
We wouldn't be heading to jail though.
No, no. You're thinking of that vampire guy from Twilight. And sometimes Brad Pitt.
I guess I can get behind this type of celebrity activism, because he brought light to a situation that otherwise wouldn't get this type of media attention. Maybe his arrest here will actually help the situation.
Definitely would have volunteered to do the pat down.
HA!
Seriously.
Also, LOL @AW's siggy.
Finally, SAVE GEORGE!
DITTO all of this.
This is sexy?
I would prefer him clean shaven, but I can work with his stubble. He's got that salt-n-pepper thing going on that I find hard to resist.
I love facial scruff.
SHUTYERFACE COPZ!!
Strike a nerve
I am right, aren't I?
Have you seen Brian Billick with his old man beard? He was on ESPN last night. I kept waiting for him to talk about kids these days with their hair and their music.
You are WRONG!!!! But does Clooney even like women?
SHUTYERFACE MER!!
Mer, my love for you is deeper than the ocean right this minute.
Brad Pitt with long hair. And 90s-era Johnny Depp.
40/112
I respect that he spends a lot of his time over there trying to do something. He said that his father had become frustrated that celebrities get more attention than serious stories in the news. He said he decided that he could use the celebrity to get the attention so that people would acknowledge the problems and hopefully want to contribute to solutions. He respects his father and his journalism and it seems fitting that they do this together.
He seems not to be the marrying kind, and I respect the fact that he doesn't get married and then cheat like some do.
And besides all that, he is HOT! stubble or clean shaven. HOT with a good sense of humor.
