Reagan grew gov't faster than Obama

I know this is from a very liberal source but.....

http://front.moveon.org/the-gop-myth-about-small-government-shattered-with-one-simple-chart/#.T2PoZfIBc3s.facebook

but does anyone want to explain why no one is calling the idol of the GOP on growing gov't at a faster rate during his first term than Obama?

Re: Reagan grew gov't faster than Obama

  • I think Americans (like the rest of the world) have a very short memory. I also don't get it how they use Gates and Buffet in alot of their debates of examples of how you can make it big in the US and both are advocates for giving away weath (and how I interpret Buffet higher taxes).
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
  • No, see. It's okay when a republican does it. YWIA.

  • Reagan also increased the debt a lot more than Obama, but Republican candidates are flat out lying about that.  See Romney claiming that Obama has tripled the debt (not true), and that it's the biggest debt Americans have ever seen.

  • Move -On is not exactly an unbiased source.

Obama has increased the % of GDP spent on gov't from 20-22% in 3 years with it estimated to be at 24% by the end of 2012.  That is unprecidented!

And probably untrue, what with it being you who said it.

    1) I acknowledged it was a biased source.

    2) what is the source for your statement?

    I knew this was coming.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.

speaking of not exactly unbiased sources... Lol.

The original graph isn't from Move On. It's Talking Points Memo who got the info from the B of EA.

  • You seem to forget that we are living in a society where it is perfectly acceptable for candidates to blatantly lie and make things up and nobody even cares when it's exposed as false.

Facts and truth are no longer relevant.

I knew this was coming. Why can't you just let the lies play out, why do you have to call people out on them?

Bush grew the government a whole lot, too.  But I think the GOP has decided he's got a bit of a scarlet letter on him.

Um, asking for a source from anyone is a legitimate question.

Especially if you challenge a source as being unreliable, then spout "facts" without giving the "more reliable" source.
