Our local furniture store is going out of business and we have an opportunity to get this at an unbelievable price, BUT I am eyeing a dining room set that we don't need but I really WANT. Our mattress is 100 years old and I really think it will help J if get the bed, but we can't afford to do both.
What say P&CE?

This is the bed, and we would get the adjustable one

my read shelf:
You sleep every night.
You do not have a houseful of guests at the dinner table every night.
Mattress now --- new dining table next time.
In your case, with your H's medical issues, I'd say mattress. Otherwise, I'd say get a cheaper but still great bed which would allow you to also get the dining set.
As another suggestion, have you looked into latex mattresses? It's different than memory foam (I'm not sure what the difference is, though). My mom has insane back/joint issues, and that's all that works for her. She's tried everything, including expensive memory foam. I know there aren't many stores of whatever she bought b/c she tried it out when she came to visit me in Denver, but it easily ships everywhere since it's vacuum packed. It's really cool stuff.
I'm Team Bed
When we bought the house we had just enough money to buy a new mattress or a new washer/dryer. I would have rather gone to the laundromat then spend one more minute sleeping on our old mattress. Our new bed was ruined in the storm so we have been sleeping on our old mattress again for the last 7 months and I can't wait to replace it again. And you know I'm not the most decisive person lol.
