Re: Tell me about your makeup routine

  • 1. Bare Minerals foundation.

    2. Eye shadow- typically Urban Decay's Naked palette. I just bought the Naked 2 and think I love it even more!

    3. Eyeliner- basic black Cover Girl pencil, or a dark shadow applied with a brush.

     4. Eyelash curler/mascara- Cover Girl Lashblast.

    5. Blush- Clinique right now. I haven't found a brand yet that I'll swear loyalty to, though.

    6. Lip gloss.

  • imagedpeugh85:

I just got the BB tinted moisturizer by Garnier and LOVE it!  I don't need any concealer with it, it evens out my skin tones and gives me a dewy/glowy look.  It's glorious.  After that

I add physicians formula blush in coral

do a smokey eye in brown/neutrals

    lash blast mascara

Burts Bees Wax lip gloss in Acai Berry

How much was it? I'm thinking I need to go this route!

  • Clinique Redness Solutions foundation in the lightest shade possible...which is still too yellow and dark for my skin, but I like it.  Doesn't make me oily and covers up the few red marks I have from a lip hair-removing accident in college.

Any brand of blush, not picky...right now I think I have Revlon.  But I need it, or else I look sick.  See paleness above

Clinique eyeliner in either dark brown or navy blue

Sometimes shadow, sometimes not. I'm not picky with brand

Clinique mascara or the kind in the chunky orange tube

    Cover Girl wetslicks lip gloss

I'll agree with the burt's bees lip stuff, imoan. I have two shades and like it a lot, too. I think I have honeysuckle (which is a neutral) and rose.

    Look with your special eyes.
  • My routine takes less than five minutes.

    Cover Girl pressed powder

    Revlon's Eye Studio shadow

    Almay something or other mascara

And that's it. If I'm feeling fancy I'll wear eyeliner, but since I have never found one that doesn't melt off in about an hour (I've tried all the so-called long lasting ones, no luck), I rarely wear it. If I'm going out, I might wear lipstick, but something light colored. I like that new one by Cover Girl that's got two different shades on each end of the stick.

    Oh, FFS.
  • 1. Aveeno Daily Moisturizer

    2. MAC matchmaster foundation

    3. MAC pro longwear concealer

    4. MAC mineralized powder

    5. MAC bronzing powder

    6. MAC graphblack eyeliner (Top lid only)

    7. Urban Decay big fatty mascara

I rarely wear eyeshadow. But when I do, I have UD Naked and I'll use the primer potion with it.

  • 1. Wait until I'm bored at work, because I'm not waking up any earlier than I absolutely must just to put on makeup.

    2. Apply cheapo CG whateverthefuckthenameis loose powder in "Don't you ever go outside?"

    3. Mascara. Usually The Falsies, sometimes Tarte's 4 day lash stain if I'm feeling brave. It's kinda runny when you're putting it on.

    4. Eyeshadow the same color as my skin, so that my weirdly dark eyelids will match, with a bit of shimmer. It's from a Rimmel quad.

    5. My flavor of the month new favorite lip product. If I'm wearing black or something that won't completely clash, it's this one.

    image

UD Super-Saturated High Gloss Lipcolor in Crush. It's almost neon pink, and pretty much awesome.

Otherwise, I choose a Buxom gloss in a shimmery shade that's close to my natural lip color. I've also been known to throw on some CG lip stain and go about my day.

  • I'm a skincare and make-up junkie.  I have so much stuff!  I switch it up daily, so for me to list my routine would be difficult.

If I'm going somewhere on the weekends I wear my eye make-up differently than I do for work or if I'm just running errands.

I wash my face with Philosophy Purity.  I exfoliate a few times a week with Kate Somerville Exfolikate (love this stuff).  After I wash my face I use Kate Somerville's DermalQuench Oxygen Treatment, a vitamin C cream, Kiehl's undereye treatment and my moisturizer varies.

I am really starting to like my Smashbox BB cream.  I really don't need foundation when I wear it.  If I need to conceal a blemish or something I like the Tarte Maracuja oil crease-less concealer. That stuff is awesome.  I don't use it that often.  I'm one of thoselucky people that don't have dark undereye circles.  If I do use foundation, I have a few different ones that I like and it depends on my mood and the weather as to which one I wear on any given day.  I have Mary Kay mineral powder foundation, Revlon Colorstay for combo skin and Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation (I wear this one the most often and apply it with a big fluffy brush even though it's a cream).

The rest of my make-up is so varied, although most of it is Tarte, except for my gloss...I like Buxom gloss.

  • Lurker jumping in 'cause I love my makeup:

Lotion: up & Up brand aveeno knockoff

    Primer: Smashbox color correcting (LOVE)

    Foundation: Laura Mercier

    Concealer: Nuetrogena (the stick)

    Powder: Smashbox Halo Hydrating

    Blush: NARS orgasm

    Eyeshadow Primer: UD Primer Potion

Eyeshadow: UD Naked 1 pallete - during the day I usually use virgin to highlight the brow and corner by the nose, sin all over the lid, and sidecar in the creases. At night I go a little darker and use liner.

Mascara: Something waterproof, although I have not found the perfect one yet. Has to be waterproof/long lasting because I am an eye rubber. Right now I have Maybeline Volume Express and it is OK. Also curl my eyelashes and put on two coats.

Looks liek a lot of stuff, but it takes 5 minutes most mornings and it never looks heavy.

ETA: Forgot to add that I use Clarins foaming facewash. That stuff is the awesome. I also exfoliate my face about once a week, and just use St. Ives Apricot Scrub.

  • I use Aveeno tinted moisturizer. On the weekends, this evens my skintone enough. I maybe add some mascara & blush.

For work, I use all Bare Minerals stuff. I use the matte foundation, though. I just like it better than the original. (If you're looking for your wedding make-up, you may want to consider the matte. I've heard the regular BM stuff sometimes makes you look shiny in photos because it reflects the light.)

I never used to use eyeliner, but I do now. Black/brown or straight-up brown, depending on what I'm wearing. I have two eyeshadow looks, also depending on what I'm wearing. I try to keep it simple.
