I haven't been to Burger King in god knows how long, but I love me a Spicy Chicken sammich. I am just surprised that the country took this long to realize that Wendy's is the highest quality of the low quality burger chains. Now if only Wendy's could kick Jared and the clown's @ss, I would have faith in America once again.

Both Burger King and Wendy's have been attempting to revamp their look and their menus in recent years, but it looks like whatever Wendy's is doing is working slightly better as the fast food company edged out Burger King to become the second-largest burger chain ? and the #3 overall fast food joint ? in the country.
According to an report from the fast food fact finders at Technomic (not to be confused with Technotronic) say that Wendy's had sales of $8.5 billion last year, just a french fry better than the $8.4 billion earned by Burger King.
Both are still lagging behind Subway, which managed to rake in $11.4 billion last year, presumably by having a Subway on every street in every city in the entire country.
Regardless, none of these pretenders to the throne even comes close to taking down the clown in the number one spot. The $34.2 billion earned by McDonald's last year is larger than Wendy's, BK and Subway combined.
Technomic had predicted the King's dethroning back in December, based on forecasts showing that Wendy's same-store sales had increased while BK's had slipped.
Wendy's has attempted a massive company facelift in recent years, revising many of its menu items to feature less-processed foods, like its "natural-cut" fries and the Dave's Hot 'N' Juicy line of burgers.
Wendy's, not Burger King is No. 2 in sales [USA Today]
Re: Wendy's surpasses Burger King in sales, awesomeness
Above Us Only Sky
Wendy's has always been better, imo. They've always had decent salads, I'm not even sure if Burger King carries salads.
Wendy's new breakfast menu is actually pretty decent too. They actually fry a fresh egg, which I think is kind of unheard of in fast food. And they have Simply Orange brand orange juice.

Every new, fancy thing on Wendy's menu has tasted like ass. Parfaits, smoothies, even the wildberry tea. But their standard burgers are tasty. Their fries taste like I made them in my oven from the grocery store freezer though.
Burger King's new fries are blah. I preferred the old ones.
McDonald's fries are still the bombdiggity but that may have to do with childhood association than real life.
I prefer KFC's potato wedges. I could live on those bad boys.

This and this. There's no beating McDonald's fries and KFC's potato wedges.
I had been meaning to try Wendy's natural-cut fries but I always forget - I don't even know if they still have them or if it was for a limited time only.
Now I want fast food for lunch.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DAlso, I have a weird relationship with Subway. When I ate there regularly, the food tasted fine to me. But when I eat something there after a long period of not eating anything from there, the food tastes nasty and makes me wonder why the hell I ate that sh!t so regularly.
But man, their marketing campaign thanks to Jared was genious. Look at how popular they've been.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DHonestly, the only thing I've ever had at Wendys is the baked potato. I have no idea if their stuff is any good. I just like baked potatoes.
Speaking of sammies, El Cerrito's patch had a "best sandwich" poll and there was outrage in the comments that the Vietnamese banh mi place wasn't on the poll but Subway was. Outrage.
Where is this banh mi place? I haven't found good Vietnamese in Berkeley. I am ready to venture out.
Wendy's is our default road trip option. I haven't been to McDonalds or Burger King in ages. I don't really like Wendy's fries and don't know how they compare. I've never had the special ones that they mention in this article. But their burgers don't have that slimy taste. Also the Spicy Chicken sandwich is good.
I am also pleased that Wendy's had started offering vanilla frosties, instead of only chocolate ones.
The only thing I ever get at Subway is the meatball subs. I always intend to get something else and never do. Honestly, I have a hard time getting worked up for lunchmeat. I can make that at home and cut out the snarky little cashier who seemingly prefers to clean out the ice tea machine for the 11th time than slap some cucumber on some Italian herb and cheese.
My daughter always orders the tuna fish and looking at that shiit makes me want to hurl.

I hate you for posting this. I never liked chocolate frosties but I think I would loooooove vanilla frosties and clearly there is only one way to find out for sure.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DSo, the last time I went to Subway, H and I were deep in Appalachia and starving. There was nothing to eat anywhere except for that Subway. So we go in, take a look at the slimey bar of cold cuts, and decide that a meatball sub would be the most satisfying. The girl says, "we are all out of meatballs, but I am about to start making some new ones...so if you want to wait a few minutes, you'll have some fresh ones." I'm skeptical, but nothing else looks appetizing, so we go for it.
We grab a bag of Sun Chips to snack on, and watch her go into the deep freeze, and pull out a garbage bag size bag of meatballs, and scoop a bucket full of them into the crockpot, then open a can of sauce, and dump that in too. She stands there stirring it every few minutes in between making other sandwiches for other people. 10 minutes later, she tells us our subs are ready.
But, when we bite in, we realize the sauce is piping hot, but the meatballs are still frozen solid.
At this point though, my inner organs are about to start digesting themselves as I am so hungry, and there is still nothing on that slimy bar of lunch meat that looks more appetizing than a frozen meatball. So we ate them. Then wept for America.
I'm with you on the fries. Especially Wendy's new fries being meh.
I am a HUGE fan of BK onion rings with zesty sauce though. Oh god I love those suckers.
ESF, that sounds positively awful.
I actually love Subway tuna - too bad it has 8 million calories especially when I ask for extra mayo. But that sh!t is goooood. It's the only thing at Subway I never got sick of.

Would you like to buy my condo in Salem?
It's on San Pablo a little bit north of Central. I think there's a nail place and a nudie video place in the same little strip. There's a Vietnamese place on the corner of San Pablo & Central. The pho there is pretty tasty, but I haven't had their sammies.
No love for Arby's.
*sigh*
I am the 99%.
I never could understand why people liked Burger King, it was always disgusting to me. Especially their fries.
Mickey D's fries are and always will be the best but I like everything else about Wendy's better.
Although it's been about 6 months since I've eaten at any of them.
I absolutely LOATHE Arby's. I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but there you are.
Click me, click me!
I'm not entirely convinced Arby's still exists. I see commericals for it, sure, but I haven't seen an actual Arby's in like 5 years.
I've gotten sick all 3 times I've ever been to BK- so I avoid it like the plague. It's all gross to me.
McD's has delicious fries and hot fudge sundaes. I can also eat their salad with Newman's dressing and hold the nasty "chicken." Foodwise- there's nothing else on the menu I eat.
BLT is the way to go at Subway. I love when employees are willing to actually make the bacon crispy- because chewy bacon is a sin and a waste of pig's butt.
Wendy's is one of the few FF places I'll actually eat a burger from. The bacon bleu burger they had a couple years ago was awesome. I also love the frosty card that you pay $1 for and get free frosties for the year (that may just be local though).
I've never actually seen one - billboards for food stops on highways far from NYC, yes, but I've never actually seen an Arby's restaurant before.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DJust because I got hungry reading this post but decided I'd already gained 5 pounds reading it.
Wendy is good stuff. Their cheeseburgers are far superior to the rest of the fast food world. I also like their sweet tea, fries, chili, baked potatoes, and chocolate frosty.
BK is gross.
McD's has great coffee, oatmeal, and fries, and hot fudge sundaes.
Arby's is gross as is Hardees.
Subway is good in a pinch but yea I can see the gross factor there.
I think that covers it. CFA still rules the world though.
