Poll: Show you keep watching even though it kinda sucks!

I try to be a loyal viewer but I've given up on a lot of shows in the last couple of years.  There are so many shows out there and I just don't have time to keep hanging on to the ones that are underwhelming and aren't as good as they used to be.

But- sometimes I stay loyal no matter how hard I am rolling my eyes and complaining while I watch... Smile

For me, One Tree Hill tops the list. (It's the last season so I can't give up now!Embarrassed)

Also: Glee and The Game

  • 90210.  It's terrible.  But I can't stop.  I feel like if I stop watching, maybe it wouldn't have any viewers.  (While I'm at it, I will never understand why they canceled the new Melrose Place.  I LOVED that show, and yet it gets canceled while crappy 90210 is still going.....)
  • I like your bolded titles! I'm going to do it too.

We watched The Office for the first part of this season even though it was painful to watch.  Then our DVR oddly stopped recording it.  We reset it and it still refused, and we haven't seen an episode since.  We think it was looking out for us.  lol.

I started out watching Glee this season even though it wasn't very good, but stopped after the January hiatus.  It's still recording, I just delete it without watching it.  I guess I should stop the recordings.  And I'm losing patience with How I Met Your Mother.  They keep having the dumbest plot lines.  Just meet the mother and end the show.  But we're still watching.

We're ready to give up on The Amazing Race for this season at least, because it sucks.  And the last regular season of Project Runway was so awful that we're only giving the next season a few episodes before we decide whether to continue.  We have been enjoying the All-Star season though.

    OMG- I agree 100%!

I gave up on 90210 early this season.

And I loved the new Melrose! Man, was I upset about that cancellation. It was the better re-make by a long shot!

  • Gossip Girl.

I barely watched the last episode and I don't even miss it since it's been on break but I'll still watch it (minus Dan and Blair parts).

I've pretty much given up watching everything else.

Is it just me or does TV suck now? It used to be so good!

DH and I had this conversation last night.  This show needs to wrap it up.

  • American Idol -- I used to love this show, but the last few seasons have been boring and especially frustrating with the new judges.  After this season maybe I'll finally stop watching.

How I Met Your Mother -- DH and I have been watching the first few seasons on Netflix.  Sometimes I like it, other times I can't stand it.  I'm just kind of over it, but now I feel too invested to stop watching.

  • There are a lot on this list, but these are the few that came to me quickly:

HIMYM:  the old ones are SO much better.  New ones are okay, but I kind of wish they'd start wrapping it up.

Big Bang Theory:  still like it, but reruns are also way better.

Grey's Anatomy:  used to love it.  Don't really like it anymore, but still watch it.

Desperate Housewives:  man, it got bad.  I stopped watching a few years ago, but got sucked back in when I was at my mom's house 2 weeks ago.  Luckily it is almost over, so I don't mind watching the last 4 or so episodes.

Glee:  it is SO hit or miss.  Not sure how much longer we'll keep watching this.

Project Runway: I DVR it and fast forward through most of it.  I don't like the all stars version very much.  I think I miss Heidi and Tim.

  • Glee for sure.  It was a nice novelty first but not it's just a snooze fest.

The Simpsons gets watched for the nostalgia value these days, but it really should have been cancelled about 10 years ago.

Survivor has been lame for years and I actually didn't watch last season at all, but I'm watching this season because I was intrigued by the "one world" concept.

  • Desperate Housewives.  I wish they'd just kill them all and be done with it.  I'm so glad it's the last season.  I feel like I've invested all this time watching it I need to know how it ends.
    imageimageimageBaby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.  We might quit BBT after this season, I don't know.  I keep DVRing Modern Family because H thinks it's funny (and yes, I know I'm in the minority on not liking this show).

Yeah it was really good before! I'm thisclose to giving up on GG. Every episode I basically say I am done and then I forget to delete the season pass and watch anyway...

  • Desperate Housewives: I started off a big fan of this show. A few seasons in I gave it up, then came back for a while, then left again for good. I could not make myself watch it this season even though it's the last season. If I remember I will watch the finale because I tend to watch series finales even of shows I never watched at all.
  • Smash

Pretty little liars...it drags and twists too much

  • HIMYM- for all the reasons mentioned above and
Eastbound and Down-  this show is just horrible, probably one of the worst shows on tv, and yet I keep watching...

I'll join you in that minority.

Modern Family is little more than a series of misinterpretation jokes.

  • The Office.  It's sooooooo bad.  We laugh at things here and there but it's not like it used to be.    In the beginning it had characters that were a little (or some not at all) exaggerated from people that you could know in real life.  Now you have characters that walk into an office, say they're the boss, and give people raises and the person in charge is okay with this?  It doesn't even make sense enough to be funny.

Gossip Girl is one I've almost given up on except I end up keeping a bunch of episodes and then watch them all at once which hooks me again.

I end up liking shows better when I can watch a bunch of episodes in a row.  So shows that I didn't start watching until a few seasons in, I always think the previous seasons were better.

  • I am terrible at breaking up with shows, which is why I missed one episode in the entirety of Melrose Place back in the day (you know, before DVR even).

I keep watching The Office, and I have no idea why (although it usually sits on my DVR for a good week before I get to it). And Glee (although I think this season is better than last). Big Bang Theory, too. The characters are just getting SO over the top.

  • I reluctantly keep watching Gossip Girl, even though I know it's gone terribly downhill and it aggravates me week after week.

I removed HIMYM from my DVR just a few nights ago. It just wasn't funny to me anymore. I LOVE NPH, and it made me so sad to remove it.

I keep watching all the RH shows (except Atlanta) even though I know they all suck and are so ridiculous.

  • Grey's Anatomy - I've been watching since the beginning and will not quit watching it, but I have to admit, the show just isn't what it used to be.

Yes, thank you.  Pretty much every episode contains at least 1 wacky misunderstanding.  Honestly, I feel like the show is Full House or some other 70s or 80s family sitcom that thinks it's hip because it has gays kissing and a mockumentary format.

Don't forget about the adopted Asian kid.

    All the rage.

  • The Game- BET messed up this show sooo bad. It's nothing like it used to be, yet I keep watching- sometimes, but I have removed it from the DVR.

The Real Housewives of OC,ATL and NJ- How many times can we see women go to the plastic surgeon?

    2 Broke Girls

    Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice

The Braxton's- Horrible made up drama. I usually only watch about half of the show before I turn it off.

  • I'm so glad they are finally canceling Desperate Housewives.  That show "jumped the shark" when they decided to fast forward five years...uhg!

  • I'm still watching Glee, though I'll only half-heartedly watch it a few days after it airs.  I'm holding out hope that they graduate most of the cast and replace them with new talent.  And better storylines.  I'd love it even more if they graduate the Emma/Will storyline too.  I can't stand them.

I'm also still watching CSI.  It lost its mojo after Grissom left, but the weird murders keep me hanging on.  The NYC version of CSI is so much better, but it hasn't recorded in ages.  I'm assuming it was cancelled.

ANTM and Project Runway have been awful the past couple of seasons.  Even Top Chef was underwhelming this past season.  I have a feeling that I'll end up deleting ANTM after another couple of weeks.  I really cannot take Tyra and her awful gimmicks and awful book any longer.  Someone was smoking crack when they gave her a book deal.

I gave up on The Office and Up All Night about a month or so ago.  New Girl is about to get the ax too.  And probably Smash.  I didn't even bother to add GCB to my DVR list.

ETA:  I'm still watching all the Real Housewives.  I like to put them on when I get ready in the morning.  If I'm distracted by something else, I don't get annoyed as much, but I still get to keep up with their crazy.

    This is my siggy.
  • Desperate Housewives - they've had some real ups and downs and I'm definitely not upset that it is ending this season.

I quit Project Runway after it moved from Bravo.  I don't even know what channel it's on anymore.

Even Top Chef was underwhelming this past season.  I will give it one more season, but I don't have high hopes after this season shittyshitshit.

I gave up on The Office once Steve Carrel left.

Criminal Minds and L&O:SVU have also fallen by the wayside.  I catch them if I'm channel surfing, but I don't make a point to watch them anymore.  Ever since Gideon left CM and they fired some actors (but then brought them back, WTF) I got really annoyed and stopped being a religious watcher.  I'm also pissed about Elliot leaving SVU and haven't watched an episode all season.

Last one: Jersey Shore.  I was a fan the first few seasons, but jumped ship about midway through the Miami season.  I got sick of the Ronnie/Sammie shitstorm every week.
