I am taking continuing education courses
for my Law and Order degree. H and I have been watching past seasons of L&O on netflix like a mofo and my god, I forgot how good it used to be. I swear there isn't a damned episode of original L&O that I can't watch 17 times, even the ones I know like the back of my eyelids.
That being said, SVU gets more and more ridiculous with each additional viewing. How in the hell can so many people manage to commit suicide or shoot their attackers, shoot other people's attackers, etc in that damned station? Is there really no security in an NYC police station? Do cops not actually serve and protect inside of the building?

Re: I am taking continuing education courses
I love your siggy so much.
Old school L&O is the ***. The episodes with Jesse L Martain are just delicious sexy chocolate on the awesome ice cream cake of L&O.
ETA: I thought we could say sh!t now? No? Is it *** we can say? Nope. Not D!ck either.
I think the ridiculousness of SVU isn't as noticeable when you're watching an episode here and there. But watching it all together? ugh lol And yet, we keep watching.
And yes, why are there only 8 seasons of original L&O? I might be ready to go on record as saying 6-8 are the best seasons.

Have you seen L&O: UK? The first season's episodes are the same as the first season of L&O: Original Recipe, but with the UK cops and judicial system.
It's awesome.
::sits down next to HAB::
I think the one season with both Jill Hennessy and Benjamin Bratt is my favorite. The Carey Lowell seasons are really good, too. Both of those characters are so under-appreciated.
I do wish they'd have put Jill Hennessy in some of the clothes that the later ADAs got to wear. Those boxy suits they had her in were awful!
God bless the 90's. I love how L&O tries to tread the line by putting the ladies in boxy court wear attire but puts the hems of their skirts up their thighs. But only for opposing counsel. Poor Claire and what's her face had to wear them below their knees, perhaps to ward off McCoy's wandering eye. lol
You know, I never liked Carey Lowell but rewatching those seasons, she really grew on me, particularly given the chemistry she and McCoy had. They worked well together.
But I'm mad that there are no episodes with Angie Harmon. The one where she gets that serial killer to confess by faking him out with the death penalty in Texas is my favoritest evah.

Jamie Bamber makes me swoooooooooon. Then they killed him off. British bastards.
Hey HAB, I know you'll appreciate this re: ridiculousness of SVU - THE MONKEY IS IN THE BASKETBALL.
TNT has been airing a lot of Chris Noth episodes recently. Love it.

I LOVE old school L&O - Ben Stone is awesome. I also love the ones with Jesse L. Martin and Jerry Orbach. I like to think about the singalongs they must have had.
Happy Spring!.
Oh god, the monkey.
Also, God love Stabler but he would have been kicked off the force ages ago.

The monkey episode is one of the few memorable ones over the past few years though - the rest of them are not as memorable as the SVU episodes from the first 4 or so seasons. But it's memorable for all the wrong reasons, even though it's such a guilty pleasure episode.
The most hilarious thing is that SVU has been pretty decent this season, without Stabler. The precinct is pretty safe these days - no teenage girls coming in shooting everyone in sight, or stabbing their father in the neck while he's in custody at the precinct, or whatever other crazy sh!t happened in there.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DThe bat-sh!t-crazy left with Neal Baer. The first five or so seasons were good and then Neal Baer turned it into Law & Order: Olivia Benson Saves the World.
