Feeling crappy, advice please!

The past few weeks I've really been feeling "blah." I'm more tired than normal, struggling through some workouts, and I just can't seem to shake it. I'm disappointed because my 1/2 training was going amazing until these past few weeks. But, I guess the more concerning thing is that something more serious is wrong. Other symptoms include abdominal pains and bloating, upset stomach at times, having to pee a lot (but this may just be from trying to hydrate better) and a 3-4 lb. weight loss over the past few months. I don't weigh myself often, but I finally went into the clinic this week, where I was just over 115 pounds instead of my usual 118-120. My doc did some lab work and even a pregnancy test, and I finally got the results this morning. Everything looks normal. (and I'm not PG.) I suppose that's good, except I still don't feel right. Any thoughts?

Re: Feeling crappy, advice please!

  • Sound like it could be food related.  Maybe you should keep a log of what you are eating and see if there are any triggers.

Good luck! Hope you feel better soon!

  • This is off the cuff and entirely not medical advice, but it sounds a bit like what DH was going through when he had a peptic ulcer.  Do you tend to feel really full after only a few bites of food?
  • Maybe have your OBGYN do some blood work to check hormone levels? I know if I am feeling "off" it's sometimes related to that....Also agree with PP keep track of your food to see if there are any triggers.

Not specifically, but I'll have to try & pay attention to that. I still eat normal meals, but sometimes I think I feel less hungry.

  • I appreciate all the feedback, and I'll have to pay attention to whether it may be a specific food triggering this. I'll keep you posted if/when I get it sorted out.

Have you gone through any stressful events in the past few months?  I'll have digestive issues and weight loss during/after stressful periods.

  • I am having pretty much the exact same issues. Blood tests were normal etc also. I am wondering about gluten but haven't been tested for it. I guess the next step for me is going to see a GI where they will be able to test for gluten or other food allergies/intolerances. I wish I had some advice for you instead of "I'm in the same boat!" but I definitely can relate to how frustrating it is. A lot of people around me are suggesting stress as well. PM me if you want to commiserate over it all!
  • BradAmanda- Sent you a PM! Stress could be a factor; I don't feel crazy stressed out but it's one of the causes that's been suggested that makes sense.
