Re: I'm bored... random poll

  • Highlight of the weekend? Doing the little kids' train ride around Montmartre/Pigalle yesterday. Two weeks into my parents' visit, I actually found an activity that was enjoyable for both them AND DD.

WFD? My parents just left this morning and I have no will to plan anything for the rest of the day or even week.

What's your next holiday destination? Good question. The only thing planned for sure right now is Pamplona in July. But we're trying to get away sometime during all the May holidays here.

Favourite kind of shoes? Boots. For this reason, I can't live in climates that are hot year-round, as much as I love the beach.

What are you reading? Lots and lots of novels and manuscripts for work, three Spanish authors, one Mexican, one Cuban.

Do you have photo booth photos with your SO? Do tell. Old-school photo booth or computer/Iphone/whatever stuff I see people keep posting on FB and whatnot? Back in New York, I have old school photo booth photos saved in a box from when DH and I were in college.

*edited* What's the word for "hello" where you are? Bonjour.

*edited* What's the word for "hello" where you are? Hello...then again, it's more likely to just be a nod.

  • Highlight of the weekend? Going to a park near my house yesterday. We've been going there since we moved here and we just discovered this HUGE area where there's a zoo and more open space. We've been on the "botanical" side of the park a million times and didn't even know the "animal" side existed.WFD? Dirty RiceWhat's your next holiday destination? Somewhere we can go by car. So excited to get a car in a few months.Favourite kind of shoes? Flip flops. What are you reading? Nothing right now. I'm in the middle of many books, but none of them are keeping me interested.Do you have photo booth photos with your SO? Do tell. I do. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, here. We take photo booth pictures whenever we see them and our favorite bar when we first started dating had a photo booth, so we have a ton. Nothing crazy, though.*edited* What's the word for "hello" where you are?
  • Highlight of the weekend? Friends from Kansas who happened to be driving to Sweden from Italy stayed at our place on Saturday night; it was very spontaneous and awesome.

WFD? No idea; I just found out I have gestational diabetes, so I guess I need to see what the Internets say. (I am going to a dietitian tomorrow)

What's your next holiday destination? I'm hoping we can get back to the States (Florida and Kansas) in September. Shorter term, we'll probably end up visiting my husband's family in Austria.

Favourite kind of shoes? Non pregnant: Chucks. Pregnant: Anything that doesn't require bending over.

What are you reading? Childbirth Without Fear. Do y'all detect an overriding pattern here?

Do you have photo booth photos with your SO? Do tell. We did some at a mall years ago in the States with little America flags in the background. We thought it was hilarious. Or should the answer be something sexy? Because if so, then the answer is hells no.

What's the word for "hello" where you are? Hallo. But in Frankfurt dialect, you can also say "Ei Gude!"

What's the word for "hello" where you are? I usually just toss a "Dag" out there...which means "day" literally.  Basically, it's just "good day" when you walk past someone.

I always think it's interesting to see what part of the greeting gets dropped in what languages. In Spanish, you can just say "buenas" as hello in some places, instead of "buenas tardes" (good afternoon), but you would sound like an oddball saying just "Good" in English. "Morning!," however, is perfectly acceptable.

Do you have photo booth photos with your SO? Do tell.
    No :-(

What's the word for "hello" where you are?
Hello. But a lot of people start conversation with 'allright?' instead of hello.
