How would you style this dress for a wedding? PIP
Evening wedding in April. DH is the best man and wearing a traditional tux. I bought the below dress, which looks great on, but I kind of want to funk it up a bit. I'd consider myself an edgier dresser.
How would you style it? I have a short torso, so belts usually don't look great on me. I'm also likely going to hem it a bit as the length looks a little too old for me; I prefer slightly above the knee.
ETA: it looks purple in the photo (and online!) but it's actually a bright cobalt blue. I have auburn hair and fair skin if that makes a difference.

I definitely wouldn't do a belt with that dress. No way. It's gorgeous, and that color is amazing!
I would do gold heels and some statement earrings. With that neckline I wouldn't do a necklace.
You could add a fancy scarf or pashmina over your shoulders and a great clutch to tuck under your arm.
Completely agree. Love those earrings

Just to be difficult, let's say I find those earrings a tad boring, and strappy heels in any metallic don't inspire me. Any other ideas?
Let's say, I'd wear shoes like this:
My husband would be afraid of those.
Plus...weddings usually mean drunk people, and those seem like a bad idea around drunk people.
Plus, they're fug.
I like both of these suggestions.
It was a style idea.
More like these?
Ha! Those Sam Edelman pumps in nude were my first thought when I saw the dress!
Sorry, these just look cheap to me. I appreciate the help but I'll just keep looking :-)
Love this!
Good luck! That dress is amazing

The leopard and black are on sale at Zappos, though the nude are especially awesome.
ETA: I think you should post more often.
I have to agree with Kore and FCG that those pumps in the nude instead of leather would be great, with some bangles and dangly earrings.
I love those pumps in the black leather and would wear them all the time.
or the Lorissa peep-toes in gold with gold accessories. I love gold and cobalt and in fact, am wearing a cobalt dress with gold accessories for an upcoming wedding as well.

Ditto. *Maybe* an animal-print shoe or bold jewelry of some sort, but I don't think that dress can do edgy. If you want to do edgy, I'd wear a different dress.
That is easily the 25th dress I've tried on. The dress is staying! lol
I'll make the dress do edgy. I'll prove you haters all wrong!
Since it's a jewel tone, I'd do jewel tones all over. Emerald, yellow, even red. I'd do a different one for shoes, clutch, and earrings.

I'm no hater, it's a very pretty dress and that color is so luxe and gorgeous.
I would love to see the finalized outfit, so if you don't mind, can you post it post-wedding? I'm always open to new ideas. ::smiley face with a rainbow behind my head::
