RAWR!

That shirt was on sale for $12 at Target as of Sunday.  It's more mustardy than it looks and they had tons of colors.

Re: OOTD

  • Also, this has nothing to do with clothes but check out this tray I made!  It's still super wet so I have to wait until it dries a bit to even out the edges.  I think I'm going to try to do an ombre finish where it's white on the edges and then fades to just a clear glaze in the middle.

  • SB...do you happen to have a little Captain in you?
    image
  • It's definitely possible.  I feel a little swashbuckly today.

  • Then please be sure to say "argh" as much as possible.

  • I really like that tray.  What will you use it for?

You also look good in yellow (shoes excepted, har har har).  Not many people can pull that off.

  • SB, I love that tray!  Please post another pic when it's finished, I want to see the glaze.

  • I want to know how to do an ombr? glaze.  Love the imprint on the tray!

  • Kay, I haven't decided yet.  It will shrink a little bit during firing (not that there's anything for scale in that pic) so I'm thinking I may put it on the table by our front door for keys and whatnot.

Christin, what I'm planning is to brush on white slip really thinly, and just layer it on thicker as it goes out toward the edges.  I'll see if I can do what I'm thinking.  And then just do a clear glaze over the whole thing.

  • Rawr!  I like your tray, SB.  Although I'm sad it doesn't look like a boob.  I heard there would be boobs.

    Here's me today:

  • I bought stuff! I told Lindsay I wasn't going to buy clothes for the trip, so I bought a bunch of clothes for the trip. Indifferent
I'm going to straight up fashion show it up in huur.
My main objective is to bring lots of breathable neutral layers that I can dress up or down with accessories. Not all of this is new.

Nothing says vacation like a cape.

    Clearly unsure of this look.

Serious about history and this scarf.

I think a belt would really do the trick with this one Hezzer.

You look sophisticated in all of these ensembles and notably fanny-pack-less, so you won't stick out like a tourist.

    image Ready to rumble.
  • hezzerlah how tall are you? you look so svelte and tall, and you're pretty.
    image
  • ooh, good call on the belt! Thanks!
    Aw, thanks vallyhoo. I'm 510ish-11ish.
  • Bonus! The cape washes well!

  • I LOVE the green scarf. Love.

  • I like the blue shirt/leggings, but I think if you're unsure about it a belt or a scarf or something to add to it would make it perfect.

Everything looks really comfortable and mixable.  Perfect for vacation.

I think the cape is a little short and light though.  You want something heavier, more ruffled.  I wish I could find a picture of exactly what I'm thinking of in my head.

  • No fanny pack, no socks with sandals, you're learning Greek.....how will people know you're a tourist?

  • And may I suggest a jaunty hat and vest to add to your travel wardrobe?

  • Cali, how long have you had that siggy picture? Jesus Christ, it's making me laugh like a loony toon. Everytime I think I'm ok I read it again and I start laughing for another minute straight.

I'm trying to learn Greek, it's not to work well unless they say things exactly how I've learned them. "The boys are drinking." "The women are cooking." "The red flower is big!"

    That's it. That's all I know.
no, wait. I know how to say fish, dog, horse, and car, too.

I should probably start studying again. March Madness seriously messed up my life.

  • Josh Hutcherson generously agreed to pose next to Hezz so vallyhoo could get a better sense of her height.

  • I think you're implying she's a giant, in that case I'll call her hezzgrid.

and seeing that picture, he actually looks like the perfect height.

  • he looks like a wee hobbit.
  • Ok it's slow I'm contributing today:

Whole dang outfit is from the Limited except the shoes, which are Nine West.

SB, I love that you found that at Target.  Sometimes awesome outfits are waiting to be put together there, and I don't have the vision to pick them out on various sales racks.

Hezz, I love that green & white scarf.  Can someone do a PSA and make a youtube of how to wear a scarf?  I'm looking at you jen.  I know Okla put up something from pinterest a few weeks ago, but apparently I need extra help

  • Ooo, I love the green.

  • Gracias  :)

I should add you be lookin' mighty fine there lately- I can really tell all your hard work is paying off.

The husband & I decided to go on a this-is-not-a-diet-it-is-a-lifestyle adventure as our new year's resolution. The kind of thing you go on when you notice yourself drinking a little too much every night after work, and huffing & puffing a little too much up the stairs.  I used to run marathons, and then after I got most recent job two years ago, I stopped working out and my butt was in a vegetative state.  I've been using the myfitnesspal app and I've lost 10 lbs so far.

What is really funny, having been on WW before, is seeing the lightbulb go on over my husband's head for the first time.  "Do you know how many calories are in beer?  I was drinking an entire days worth of calories on a good Saturday night!"  Yes dear, yes you were.

  • I love the green too- and since I'm bored and apparently being an AW tonight I'll post a late pic... except now that I know how to do it from my phone, I forgot how to do it from my computer.... I'll be back
