Re: Generational Differences
1980 - Only fire drills. Columbine happened at the end of my senior year of high school, so the only way we addressed it is I wrote a paper on it. Plus, private prep school that wasn't overly concerned about safety.
We did once have to evacuate due to a gas leak from road construction. Basically, it was just a big long fire drill, complete with them locking bags (and my car keys) in the classroom until it was over, many many many hours later.
We had lock down drills in rural KS and I was born in 1981. They actually used it at least once as well.
