IHO Bowie's post - your SO

What are some things your SO does that make you secretly think, "YESSSSS I have the best SO ever."

Do you ever tell them when you have that moment or keep it to yourself? Tell them later?

My H has these moments a lot.  He brags about me CONSTANTLY.  He's the most supportive person I've ever met in my life.  Tomorrow I could say "I want to be President of the United States" and he would be right on top of it.

He tells me constantly how much he loves me and how beautiful I am... and I know he sincerely believes I'm beautiful. He's been blinded by love, but I don't mind.

He finds my biggest flaws endearing.  He's made me love myself.

  • If he's doing something particularly cute with the dogs, I'll take a picture.  Last night he laid on the floor while K licked his bald spot.  They both had these looks of pure joy on their faces.

He'll also ask the dogs about their day while he cooks dinner.  Typical questions include "So, how much ass did you sniff today?" and "How many people did you bark at today?"

Christ, I need to get this under control.  Maybe I need to double up on the NuvaRings for a while.

ETA: I use a lot of dog examples, but his awesomeness is across the board.  Like Mr. imoan, he also tells me how beautiful I am all.the.time, and he's not shy with telling me his feelings.  I've also never had to ask him to pitch in around the house because he's does his share (and, if I'm being honest), some of mine too.  I'll show my appreciation by returning the favor, just saying "thank you", or surprising him with something small, like an early Easter basket.

    This is my siggy.
  • Last night I went to the mall after work for some retail therapy. DH was at work late and then at lacrosse so I had time to kill and didn't want to sit on my duff at home. Now, I have no business being at the mall or buying any clothes as I have too many already and my room is a disaster of clothes everywhere.

So I was feeling guilty, but when I text DH that I was at the mall he was all, "Ooooh, baby, what did you find? Anything nice? I bet you'll look so pretty in that, etc" He just wants me to be happy and if a new blouse does that, then he's all for it, even if I have 35 more at home on the floor.

    I love this story!

H (and actually his BFF) humor me so well.  I came home one day from buying nailpolish.  They were in the garage working on BFF's bike.  They were both like "oh!  Let's see what you got!" and commented on the colors and everything.  And last night, H could tell that I was setting up to do my nails and he was all interested and said "What color are you going to do this time?"

  • I have these moments all the time. But I think you guys know I'm pretty obsessed with MH. Of course he also drives me totally crazy, but he's mostly super awesome.

If I'm out late, I often walk in the door to find him making dinner, a chilled glass of wine waiting in the fridge, and he says "babe just go relax, I'm almost done with dinner".

I've not cleaned snow off a car or pumped gas more than five times since we moved in together. He will drive my car to the gas station the night before I have to go somewhere so that I don't have to get gas. Anytime we go somewhere he will carry every piece of luggage and insist that all I need to carry is my purse. He always always takes care of me in little ways like that.

He is thoughtful and puts together nice surprises (except for that one birthday debacle last year!) that make me feel special. He's spontaneous and sweet and he makes me all mushy.

  • He's just awesome all the time.

Like the time I lost a job I loved, and lost student status and my doctoral project, and was working at a job I hated, and used to spend every work morning eating chocolates, watching Mary Poppins, and crying.  Of course I porked right the hell up, and his response was to take me shopping for pretty new clothes and to get me a gourmet chocolate of the month membership so I'd at least enjoy the process more.

Or our first anniversary, when he sent a bouquet of twenty of the main flower in my wedding bouquet to my work, with a lovely ceramic vase to hold them.

Or this past Valentine's Day, when he gave a video of our wedding ceremony to a glass artist to look at and create something inspired by it as a gift for me.

Or every night, when he puts both a heating pad and my nightgown under the covers and pre-warms both my side of the bed and my nightgown so I'm toasty right away.

    He's just awesome in general.

Okay this is all freaking adorable but the nightgown thing ROCKS.

  • OK, one more:  I got home from work last night and found that he had not only raked the backyard, but had picked up all the dog poop.

The path to my heart is through the removal of dog feces.

    This is my siggy.
  • He is super duper verbal with his affection and constantly tells me how wonderful I am and how lucky he is to be married to me.

He brings me flowers ALL the time! He knows i absolutely love them and at least every 3 weeks or so he will either bring them home to me or deliver them to school.

He does tons around the house without me asking.

He is a fantastic stepdad and  loves and treats my kids like they are his own.

He loves to take me on vacations!

He lets women from TIP flash him :)

  • Every night before I fall asleep, he tickles my back for me. No matter how tired he is.

He gets up and feed the baby twice in the night. I sleep through all of it.

He tells me he loves me at least twice a day.

I tell him every couple months how lucky I feel sometimes.

  • I love this stuff, keep it coming!

I think my FI is incredibly awesome as well, although the heated pjs is pretty awesomeness Kuus.

He cooks dinner almost every night, will stop anything and everything he's doing to help me (especially with wedding stuff) with whatever I need.

I usually get most of our lunches/snacks ready at night while he cooks dinner, if I'm running late or at the gym, he does all that before I get home.

He sends me gchats and texts throughout the day.

Every night we get into bed and read our books and it's my favorite time of the night because there is nothing else but us just hanging out and it is so peaceful.

The best thing about him is that he loves me for who I am and that's pretty awesome in itself.

Agreed. I forget about those littles things.

I spent a ton on craft supplies the other weekend (mostly for my new sewing machine!). When I texted H to tell him I spent more than I anticipated all he wanted to know was what I got and if I had everything I needed to start a project :)

  • He has the same twisted sense of humor as me, so he knows when to get me out of a situation where I'm about to inappropriately start laughing my head off. It seems really stupid, but I appreciate it A LOT.

He also brings home lego sets for us to assemble together over weekends when we don't feel like doing puzzles or going out and doing stuff. We're working through the Harry Potter legos currently, lolol.

    Are you serious???
  • I have more! Let me know when you're sick of me lol.

You all know I have to make this about sex! He always makes sure I get off. That's important! He is constantly trying to improve/spice up our sex life and he does a really good job of it. I think we're way hotter for each other now than we've ever been and it just keeps getting better.

He wants to talk to me and be with me all the time. If he has to run errands, he'll ask me if I want to go along to "take a ride" - once I was like "no I think I'll stay here" and his face just fell. I was like "babe, it's just to Home Depot" and he said "I know, I just like having you with me."

He always holds my hand or puts his arm around me, especially when we ride in the car or sit on the couch to watch TV. He always pats my butt when I walk up the stairs ahead of him to let me know he's looking at it, lol.

He tells me all the time that I'm hot and sexy and how much he adores me, even when I have my hair in a bun and no makeup and I feel icky.

Even though he wants to spend all his time with me, he has his own hobbies and interests and friends and encourages me with mine. He is super supportive of the things that excite me and make me happy, even when I know he isn't a big fan.

I could really go on forever. Like I said, I'm in loooooooveeeeee.

Hey... what sewing machine did you get?

Just a small, cheap beginner. This one: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Singer-Sewing-Machine-2663/10992861

It was my Christmas present from my mother. I'm just getting around to starting a project, so don't as me for reviews. I've only threaded it and done some straight lines.

I only do anal on weekends so I don't think the kid will come out my butt. I'm hoping I get PG from a blowie so I can just barf the baby up.

Like I've said before... I love H more now than I did the day we got married.  And on that day, I didn't think it was possible.

He buys me flowers every single time he goes to the grocery store by himself.

He once swore that he would never again date a vegetarian. Now he only eats meat in restaurants. It's all veg at home and I don't think he has ever complained about it.
