What's your running in the rain gear?

It was pelting down the other night so I had to give the treadmill a go, not my idea of fun or motivating. So if you run in the rain what do you wear?

Re: What's your running in the rain gear?

  • I really don't wear anything different than if I was running on a dry day. I always run in moisture-wicking materials, and I tend to sweat a lot when I run, so I'm usually just as wet after a rainy run than a clear one. One difference is that in the rain I always wear a (wicking) hat with a bill, to keep the rain out of my eyes.

I don't mind running in a light or steady rain. I avoid it if it's absolutely pouring, though... and of course if there's lightning/thunder.

  • I wear my normal wicking running clothes. I can't stand wearing hats, so unless it is a downpour I won't wear one. The main difference in running in the rain is I don't bring my iPod.

  • A jacket, hat with brim, and whatever temperature-appropriate bottoms I want.
  • Normal gear plus a hat to keep the rain out of my eyes and my jacket. It is water repellant but it still breathable. It is from Nike.

This (and sometimes I'll wear a light rain jacket).
  • Thanks ladies, there was no thunder etc on the night I was describing but yeah, it would be a definate inside running/stair climbing night then!

For those that might wear light jackets, which type do you have?
