I'm not sure I want to play anymore
The AdamHusband AE is really bothering me.

Re: I'm not sure I want to play anymore
I'm really hoping it's a non-regular a-hole poster we've known. It would honestly hate for it to be anyone that I have had respect for.
It's just poor taste and offensive.

I think SisMom is funny because while the AE itself is kind of insulting, the actual posts haven't been bad.
AH just seems mean-spirited. I don't think it's who you think it is though (AND I think I know who you are! that's my mommy superiority coming through. I'm very smart. You can tell I passed it on to my kids.)
Both of these are fuuucked up. Not.Cool.
I'm not a fan of that AE.
I'll be sure to mention to Rick that he has some zombie bait to take care of.
Agreed. This coming from someone who's taste is viewed as low on a weekly basis.
Personal attacks are not cool. It's too bad that this is something we actually have to say explicitly. Whoever that is, it completely undermines the camaraderie we have built on this board, even with those with whom we vehemently disagree. I think the unspoken rule of PCE is that, if you can reasonably intelligently back up your points and prove yourself someone worthy of logical discourse, then respect is given, even if arguments get heated. Reactionary idiots who just breeze in here--fair game. But well-spoken regulars, like AW? Absolutely not.
Yeah, it made me close the window when I saw it an hour ago....

I'm not playing but I was secretly hoping that it was the actual posters' playing the AEs themselves..and not someone else doing it KWIM? For some reason that makes it better in my mind. If not, I don't think it's funny either and kind of takes the whole spirit out of the day.
Back to lurking...
the mom one has me scratching my head. *at least* with AH or whatever the name is, we've actually heard something about the guy. i'm not saying it makes the AE ok, just that it explains it a bit, KWIM?
i don't recall ever hearing anything about Sisugal's mom.
I agree SMO.
Have you tried whistling?
Ditto to DCMS. I realize this is the big bad interwebz but even AE days have their standards because this is a community of regulars and frankly, we should want a variety of opinions around here.
Don't make me go all conservative martyr, people!!
Why are you all so mean? People just come here for advice and you shouldn't be mean to them that's just not nice!
Even if it were more subtle, it's just not how P&CE rolls. It's rude, and DCMS said it better than I can regarding the board comraderie.
I know they're blocked now, but they've done their damage already.
I'm so incredibly sorry AW. I can relate to personal attacks on the Nest. You were strong in the post below, but I know I was torn up when it happened to me. So, if you feel anything I was feeling, I am so sorry. It really has me livid.

Who is it?
But I do think the MOST obvious is not always correct. I feel bad because I feel like we've publicly tiffed and people will think it's me. And I don't play like that.

I dislike the two AEs that reference posters' family members - it's in poor taste. Even worse, they aren't even funny.
IDK, I could see some imitation of regular posters being humorous... but those just aren't. Like, I would probably laugh if someone were able to imitate my husband, but I don't think I post enough about him nor do I think people here know him enough to make it funny - if that makes sense at all. But I could see if my local board did this or maybe if my parenting board friends did it, it being funny b/c they know him better.
It just seems like a lame, unfunny stereotype, I guess. Especially of AW's husband.
