    Just came in here to see how things were rolling (although I don't usually participate in AE Day) only to see this thread.  The worst part about this is those cowards will never fess up.

    I agree, last year was so funny but I don't recall anything mean spirited, except for maybe dumpsterbaby who is always mean but in a funny, generic way.

    I won't share who I think it is, because I'd hate to falsely accuse someone.  But the thread on Michelle Duggar from last night sent up a red flag to me last night that someone was going to try something like this.  I think if you go back and look at it you may see what I see too.

    I saw the title of this post, then I saw the post by AdamHusband on the main page, and I knew that's what this was about. Completely unacceptable. The spirit of AE days here is fun. Creating an AE to mock a specific poster is completely antithetical to how WE use AEs on April Fools/Halloween.

    Targeting specific posters is not okay in any regard... but many, many people like AW. It's hardly a unity horse that she's disliked, you know?

    I posted in the other thread, but I wish I was surprised.  It just reinforces for me that AEs are rarely used just for humor, even when it's supposed to be just fun.

    Personal attacks are not cool. It's too bad that this is something we actually have to say explicitly. Whoever that is, it completely undermines the camaraderie we have built on this board, even with those with whom we vehemently disagree. I think the unspoken rule of PCE is that, if you can reasonably intelligently back up your points and prove yourself someone worthy of logical discourse, then respect is given, even if arguments get heated. Reactionary idiots who just breeze in here--fair game. But well-spoken regulars, like AW? Absolutely not.  

    I agree with this.  I did not read much today, but it's a shame.
