I started working out 3 times a week in Januray. All my lifting has been with a personal trainer. I bought a package deal and now I only have 4 more sessions left with him. it's a very expensive gym ($77 a session for PT) and even though I splurged the first time I simply don't have the money to renew my package.
A part of me also feels that I should be able to workout on my own now that I know the basics of lifting. However my biggest fear is that I won't push myself as hard as my trainer does and I wont be as motivated to go in.
Any tips that I can use to push myself hard at the gym to lift heavy? I'm such a wuss and I'm afraid of pain. But no pain no gain right?
Thanks!
Re: Afraid to let go of my trainer
I would probably work harder with a trainer, but I still work hard enough on my own to see results. For me, it's good enough.
I'm motivated by "completeness" though; I love checking off a workout as done and logging it in my Excel spreadsheet.
I like to see the weights I use go up over the course of several workouts.
