ABC & NBC altering Zimmerman reporting ?.
Re: ABC & NBC altering Zimmerman reporting ?.
I'm crying, literally crying y'all.
Acorn did it.
Solyndra.
Also, y'all know good and dayum well this is all Obama's fault. Obama sent Zimmerman out there to shoot Trayvon and then he gave Trayvon's parents the tools to start an uprising because he wanted us distracted with race and stuff during an election year. Zimmerman is in the secret presidential hideaway as we type. I mean, duh!
Oh, Sisugal. I swear I was trying to defend you in the earlier post, but I can't. Just can't.
I think the uproar is about ABC covering Zimmerman's head, which some say shows a gash, with their logo during the video, and for writing in the accompanying article that the video "shows no bumps or bruises" when stills suggest maybe that could be a gash?

Totally agree. But, I'm going to need some evidence that they actually did this before I start criticizing them for it.
Which is kind of my point about every sisu post ever.
In the video I saw his head (all sides of it) were clearly visible - no logo on his head at all.

That's not the case in the video linked in the article I posted.

It did cover up his head for part of it, but you can still see his head in part of the video. There MIGHT have been a gash, or it might just be his hair. For all we know, he might have told the cop that looked at his head "Hey, I banged my head, do you see anything?" and the cop could be replying, "No, looks okay." If he was that banged up that he was in fear for his life, they would have taken him to the ER.
OK yeah, I agree that NBC's behavior was totally out of line and beyond irresponsible. There is enough racial tension in this case that there is absolutely no need to create more.
This is what happens when every news outlet is trying to report the most sensational version possible of every story in order to get more viewers. And that's why the media in our country sucks big time (regardless of their political leanings).
It's weird. I can't currently put into words why the article's choice of words bother me so much where it mentions Trayvon being 'shot', rather than killed. I feel like its minimizing the murder somehow, but then I feel like I might be reaching a bit to find some repulsive bias in the wording. But it truly does piss me off regardless.
I don't think Washington Times is any worse as a source than HuffPo or Daily Kos--both regularly used around here.

I found this too:

Thank you. I was going to say something similar.
People still read Daily Kos? After the whole Trig-is-actually-Bristol's-baby shenanigans, I figured everyone ignored it.
The thing is if this is true I think the fact that it happeed can hurt the perception of this case. That is what makes this beyond irresponsible. Their behavior allows others to question things. Dumb.
+2.
And I'm not Conservative
Thought I'd balance it a bit!
The Daily Kos publishes news reporting? I thought it was opinion pieces only but I guess I haven't visited the site more than once or twice in my life.
Personally I don't consider any of the three of those sources of news. Huffington post is a schlocky gossip site and the Times...I'm not going to even go there.
It was really irresponsible of the Today show to misrepresent the 911 tape by their editing job - but let's be fair, they also played it all the way through about 6,000 times because I feel like I heard it that many times.
As to the ABC tape, I'm not sure every broadcast had that logo, and there were plenty of shots that showed the back of his head without the logo. It's not like ABC altered the video tape. It's actually the cited newspaper that altered the video in order to try and find a gash that wasn't apparent. So I guess ABC is being blamed for NOT meddling with the police surveillance tape while NBC is being blamed for meddling with the audio tape?
Whatever.
Let's not forget that without this outcry by the media, or Roseanne or whoever else, the police department had already made their decision that there would be no investigation and no charges, whatsoever.
